HASH(0x9220f27c) out of 5 stars This sits beside my computer. 3 Aug. 2011

I had been looking for a concise guide similar to the old Hip Pocket Guide to HTML 4.01, but hadn't found anything other than the O'Reilly pocket guides. Since I already had more in-depth books by O'Reilly (all very good, by the way), I didn't want to buy the same thing condensed. This set by Peachpit pleasantly surprised me. The HTML Guide covers HTML5, the CSS Guide covers CSS3, and the JavaScript Guide covers jQuery and MooTools -- with a great combination of readability and accessibility. Type is a bit small, but the excellent layout makes it less objectionable. I have other books on my shelf to teach me such things in depth, but when I want a ready reference sitting beside my computer for website design, this is what I use. This was money well spent.

HASH(0x9369f468) out of 5 stars Good pocket guides 3 Jan. 2013

I work in a content editor position, and sometimes I need a little help on some projects. I use the JavaScript one mainly, but have had to use the HTML and the CSS book as well. Very quick and concise. I don't know all of the tags, so sometimes it's hard to find the exact one I need.

HASH(0x92f21c30) out of 5 stars Great for reference and learning 26 Jan. 2013

This is a great set to have around when designing a web site. I don't think that one can you this set as a textbook, but it's easy to look through and find new tags or info you didn't know. I'm just starting out with web design and this has been very helpful when I need to look up certain tags or need to apply a certain style to a page, but have no idea how. I recommend this for novice and advanced designers.
HASH(0x9342fc3c) out of 5 stars Good Reference Set, However, book size may be a problem... 13 Nov. 2014

Good Reference set. However...One drawback (and this is a fairly big one for me although my eyes are not too bad) is the fact that the books are only about 5" x 7" which is a bit pathetic for a desk reference. Q: When has smaller print Ever been a major plus when you're searching to find something and then smaller print help to clearly read what you need!?? This should have been 6 x 8 or slightly larger (charge $1.50 more and all is good. In short, break out the magnifying glass or find a digital version to make searching easier. I prefer both for various reasons. On a side note, Whomever made the "corporate decision" to print in smaller form should be fired (forget the reprimand as the print size can be a real problem for some and a waste of time and money (not to mention a waste of paper / trees / etc). Also Most Devs only have the most frequently used books on their desk, not the entire multiple shelves of book on their desk so stop being stingy with the print size and make it usable for all.
HASH(0x92dc3e1c) out of 5 stars Great Set of Web Books 12 Aug. 2012

This trio of paperback books is a great asset to have if you are a web developer, or a graphic designer who is embracing digital design. I've been trying to learn code for years, and have started to understand the syntax and semantics of code.
