Some chemistry texts can be a little confusing but this one does good job of describing the main concepts of inorganic chemistry.

2.0 out of 5 stars Typo on the Periodic Table 6 Oct 2011
By Books First - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
I am a diligent, dream student. I have read many chemistry textbooks thoroughly even after the class to refresh my understanding of material. I seldom sell back a textbook that I enjoyed or learned a great deal from, but this book is being sold as soon as I get my A. The inside cover has a typo on the periodic table listing Ti twice in stead of Tl. I counted numerous other errors in a fifth edition.

This book is simply not friendly. There are icons of VIDEO CLIPS in blue, but no explanation to where the video can be found (no CD/DVD included or a website mentioned). Where I would instinctive look for a picture of an aluminum chloride hexahydrate, I had to Google. Simple trends that could be illustrated with a miniature periodic table and an arrow pointing in the appropriate direction were instead explained in elevated, high brow language. I had to work very hard to extract information from this textbook because it was presented poorly.

Please select another book if you are a professor.
