While OOMPH!'s latest offering isn't their best (in my opinion at least), it is nonetheless a very strong album with some great tracks. There's a good mix of dancey tracks and a couple of ballads and as usual Dero's vocals are absolutely perfect on every track! I could happily listen to him sing all day...
There are a one or two songs I'm not too keen on, such as "Deine Eltern" (mainly because of the stupid lyrics: "Onanie führt meistens zu Rückenmarkschwund" - come on Dero, is that REALLY the best you could come up with?...) but that said, the majority of the tracks are great - I am totally addicted to "Kleinstadtboy" (their cover of Bronski Beat's "Small Town Boy") and "Unendlich", which is a gorgeous song that gives me goosbumps and a great album closer.
It's certainly quite different to their earlier albums but I like a band that's not afraid to experiment with different styles and that don't take themselves too seriously, which is what OOMPH! have done with their 11th studio album. Definitely worth buying if you are a big fan of OOMPH!
Regarding the deluxe edition: the two bonus tracks are good, in particular "Der Tod Ist Nur Ein Herzschlag Entfernt". However I must say I was a bit disappointed with the bonus DVD. The entire thing is only around 20 minutes long and a lot of it I had already seen as they had posted it on their Facebook/YouTube page. I ordered my copy from Amazon.de and there it is rated 16 because of the "Zwei Schritte Vor" video. However, the version on the DVD is heavily censored but you can easily find an uncensored, albeit age-restricted - version on YouTube - surely it should be the other way round?!
