Product Description

He’s America’s only deep cover agent on Russian soil...and his cover has just been blown.

When Troy Davies uncovers a planned attack on American soil, he knows he has to get word back to the States. He returns home to warn his superiors, only to realise that he doesn’t know who he can trust. As the terrorist attack nears, Davies’ fragile mind holds the key to the lives of millions.

This debut novel from Dan McKeown transports the reader into the midst of thrilling, fast-paced action. A story about duty, honour, camaraderie and truth, McKeown underscores the rewards gained by those who possess all four...as well as their inevitable, often terrible price.

Dereliction Of Duty
By
Daniel Mckeown

Slow burning to start with, it gets harder to put down as it gathers speed until the slam bang ending.
From Afghanistan to Metropolitan America this story blazes a trail of intrigue and violence. Solidly written, a delight to read. I will be keeping an eye out for more by this author.

Complex Thriller 1 May 2012

I struggled to finish this book. It seemed to last forever. The subplot about the computer company was particularly slow; I kept waiting for something to happen. There's plenty of violence for fans of blood n' guts. I thought some of it was implausible. Any of the three subplots would have easily made a complete novel. All three just created too many names to keep up with. Three stars at best.

Hold on to your seat 9 Jan 2012

Dereliction of Duty caught my attention from page one and never let up. This is my favorite genre and Mr. KcKeown came through big time. I really enjoyed following the three different story lines as they evolved through the book, and I was pleased with how the different sub-plots came together at the end. I enjoyed this author's writing style as much as I enjoy Clancy or Ludlum books.

Dereliction of Duty

A review

Tom Clancy. Robert Ludlum. Frederick Forsyth. Names to reckon with. New author Daniel McKeown makes an attempt to put his name up there and doesn't fail. Dereliction of Duty moves swiftly and smoothly from the opening chase scenes to the explosive climax.
There's a lot of traveling involved as the story unfolds. New York, New York state, Russia. Lots of Cold-War overtones and a palpable sense of menace. The reader quickly learns to be as ready for anything as the book's protagonist.
You'll remember the acronym ATARIC. It means something like Advanced Technology and Research Into Computers but it stands for something completely different.
You'll remember Troy Davies. You'll be with him for quite a while. Once you open the book, you'll not be getting away. It will envelop you, wrap you in a tarp, and take you away somewhere dangerous.
And you'll remember Daniel McKeown when it comes time for him to publish again.
Because he isn't at all derelict in the duty of producing a top-notch thriller.
