Book Description

9 Jun 2013
"Derby's Days" delves deep into the historic rivalry between The Rams and Forest, to investigate just why it is so special to everyone involved - from players to managers to supporters - as it looks back at the greatest clashes between the clubs. Derby County v Nottingham Forest is a rivalry steeped in history, drama, controversy, success, failure, and pretty much anything else football can throw at you. How about recovering from your goalkeeper being sent off after a couple of minutes to win on opposition turf, a double over your rivals on the way to winning your first title while they get relegated, or even beating them in European competition? Who can forget the two disallowed goals and a missed penalty in stoppage-time, or the publicly-paraded yet ultimately failed signing of the rivals' star player? As the title suggests it's a look at all things great and good from a black and white perspective, celebrating the history of this most anticipated of fixtures and looking back in great detail over many of the Rams' greatest moments .

4.0 out of 5 stars derby days the rams' rivalry with nottingham forest 21 April 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
i found the book interesting and well put together and of course any games between derby and forest always gets the blood pressure to boiling point, but then again its the same for both sets of supporters.all in all worth the price.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Great Opportunity Missed 21 Feb 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
What could have been a fascinating book was too one sided from the Derby County fan viewpoint. Given all the commonality in players, managers and other personnel these two great clubs have experienced, a balanced account would have been of greater interest to Forest fans and the football world in general. I feel the authors have missed a great opportunity. This rivalry continues to be one of the most fervent and interesting in football.
If you are a Derby fan, then it will appeal greatly.

2.0 out of 5 stars Derby Day bias 6 Oct 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This was an ordinary read because of its bias towards Derby County and against Nottingham Forest. Not one match featured consisted of a Forest win in this fixture, of which there have been more over the years! Some sort of balance would have made it a better read.
