Somehow a whole generation of men have been fooled into thinking the best way to shave is through multiple bladed razor blades in cartridges. This is a total fallacy as anyone who uses real, double edged razor blades can testify. Unlike the aforementioned multiple bladed cartridge razors, you do not need to scrape your face with real razor blades, a safety razor is designed to glide over your face. Not only do you get a superior cutting tool, you are much less likely to get ingrowing hairs and razor burn. What is the price of this superior shaving experience? Well its about a tenth of the price of the inferior modern blades. Don't be fooled by the cheap price, this is a quality product that is much kinder to your face. If you have never used a safety razor before you may want to look at some videos on the internet about how to shave with one properly but once you know how you will never go back. What you pay here for 100 blades will get you about 8 of another well know razor product sponsored by several well known sports personalities.
Do yourself a favor, invest in a safety razor, some decent shaving soap, a badger/boar hair brush and a pack of 100 Derby Extra Stainless Steel Double Edge Razor Blades. That set up will last you years, not a month and you'll feel a whole lot better and look cooler whilst shaving properly to boot.

I tried a variety pack from, ahem, another retailer first which allowed me to contrast the various blades out there. I chose Derby as best for me but would recommend anyone else does the same kind of comparison as the choice can be quite personal.
Why was this one right for me? In short because it had the best balance between Quality, Sharpness, Longevity and Smoothness of shave.
In detail:
Quality: 9/10 (very consistent)
Sharpness: 8/10 (easily sharp enough)
Longevity: 9/10 (I get a good 6-8 shaves before quality degrades)
Smoothness: 8/10 (better than a Mach 3)
In any single category you'll be able to find a blade that's slightly better, but I couldn't find one that was it's equal overall.
Oh, and at under £10 for 100 blades you can't get better value.

Value for money or what!!!
I paid less than £10 for 100 blades that I know from experience give a good shave. I don't normally, but if I changed the blade every week I still wouldn't have to buy any more for nearly two years. How many multi blade shavers cost that little over the same time. Personally I find that blades hold a tug free edge for two to three weeks so I won't be buying any others for a long time to come. They will also clear a weeks growth without the need to bin them at the end. Using Multiblades would normally choke and blunt two cartridges.

Superb value, consistently good blades.
I am using about 1 blade a week, so that's about 9p per week in blades. I have thick, heavy duty facial hair and can get through 5 shaves at 3 passes each before the blades blunt. Read more
