I wish more books like this were out there. It really cuts out the crap and tells you what depression is about. You learn how to identify it, help friends and loved ones, and help yourself if you think you have it. There are a lot of signs listed in the book, and it list the type of treatments you can receive. I am going to try to get off my medication and go on an alternative therapy with the help of my doctor. These books are fantastic and I recommend giving this a read over if you think someone in your life is effected by depression.

These days, it is no longer uncommon to know someone, be related to someone, or to be someone struggling with depression. Knowledge about the condition is extremely important in helping yourself and others cope with and recover from the condition.

Life can be difficult, and we all go through different challenges that can make us feel down or sad.

We aren’t always going to be happy, and that’s completely normal. Feeling upset because of the different problems life present isn’t depression. But, if this sadness persists day after day, week after or week, or even months on end, then depression may actually be at play.

Tips From The Depression Book

-Be Thankful
Recent studies have shown that even more than receiving thanks, giving thanks and being grateful for the positive things that you have in life can actually make you a happier person. Though depression can cause pain and sadness, one way to pierce through the haze is to think about the things you have in life that you’re thankful for.

Set Your Goals
Treatment can be a rocky journey, and many times, people struggling with depression can feel like they’re getting nowhere. Setting goals that are small but achievable can keep you focused on the progress you’re making, and can make recovery feel more manageable. It also helps keep you motivated to do more and to continue following your treatment plan despite the challenges that will inevitable crop up.

Depression can be beaten. With the right treatment and a solid network of love and support, depression can transform into an experience that can make us stronger individuals that are capable of facing life’s challenges.

5.0 out of 5 stars Vital Book For Those With Depression 7 Aug 2014
By Kindlepreneur - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is an entirely vital book for those who are afflicted by depression. The author starts off by describing what depression is, and some of the similar disorders to it, that in effect, don't have quite as large of an impact as depression.

Depression, when allowed to perform to its fullest extent, can have a massive impact upon the life of any individual. I have personally seen it tear people apart, and know some who have even committed suicide due to their depression. This book contains great methods to treat depression, and even get rid of it, that are extremely helpful. By setting realistic goals and doing the other things described by the author, you can greatly decrease the potency of depression.

If you need to turn your life around, and get rid of depression, then you NEED this book. I can not recommend it highly
enough - within its short span, it manages to explain so much about depression, and how we can overcome it. MUST buy!

5.0 out of 5 stars I have depression, and I am helping myself! 15 Feb 2014

Depression is serious and don't think that people with it don't want to change themselves. It feels really good to read books like this because sometimes a depressed person doesn't have the support they need in their lives. People without depression don't always know what it is like, so it can be hard to speak with those people.

I wish more books like this were out there. It really cuts out the crap and tells you what depression is about. This book by Amber Rain was very helpful for me. I have depression and it can be one of the toughest things to deal with in the world. On some days, I hardly feel like getting out of bed and I don't have much motivation to do anything with my life. This book helped me to see the signs that I truly do have depression. I was in denial for awhile and I didn't want to believe that I had depression. Depression can weigh you down if you don't deal with it. The treatments in here were helpful to me and I have used some of them already. I am trying to set goals for myself in order for me to be motivated. Even if it is just a small goal each day, I am trying to focus on getting better and moving on with my life. I would recommend this book to anyone who has depression. It has very helpful tips and it really helps for treating depression.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nothing to Fear 20 Feb 2014

Depression is not a disease, it is an emotion we all feel from time to time. It is not a permanent, life long condition. While it is true that some people are depressed because there is a chemical imbalance in their brain, a great majority of people are depressed because they have never been taught HOW to be happy. It is human nature to see the negative first in life, and because of this, a lot of people never learn how to be more optimistic, or happy with themselves. Once a person learns HOW to be happy, the chemical imbalance is slowly restored to a normal level.

There is a lot of stigma associated with depression and anxiety. Many people feel it is a weakness, and society hasn't done much to alleviate that kind of negative shaming. I think this book goes a long way in helping the average person understand what depression is, how it happens and how to treat it in a positive way. This is a great book for friends and relatives of a depressed person to read, to help you understand how to best help your loved one. If you are depressed yourself, this book will help you to understand what is happening to you, and to choose the best treatment option for you.

Addressing the depression can and will change your whole quality of life!
