Product Description

Review

"If you were wondering about the proper way to flirt with your dance partner ('you may regale her with soup or sandwiches; you may show her your watch'), or how to handle oneself in order to avoid an altercation with riff-raff--this book by 'Brummell and Beau' will come in handy."--Gabriella Swerling "Times Literary Supplement "

I have really enjoyed reading the quotes from this book, it provided a good source of entertainment over Christmas. A great gift.

It sounded as if it would be fun, but it isn't.
This book is a few pages of jokes that may have been funny in 1900. Plenty of spacing enables the publisher to spread this out to 60 pages.
A typical example, from the advice on mounting a horse in the Hunting section:
"On your nearer approach the sagacious quadruped will probably turn one of his two ends towards you. That which opens is termed the head; that which wags, the tail."

P.G. Wodehouse it ain't.
