Electronics for Guitarists
If you'd like to know how effects circuits and amps really work at the nitty-gritty device level then this book is for you. Starting with simple power supply circuits and going up through phasers, envelope followers, ring modulators, VCA, etc., there are many functional experimental circuits that you can build and modify to suit your tastes. And, if you would like to learn how to design your own tube amps this is a great place to start.
Some other books I've written include:
Programmable Logic Fundamentals using Xilinx ISE and CPLDs. Prentice-Hall, 2005.
Electronic Devices and Circuits. Prentice-Hall, 2001.
Operational Amplifiers and linear Integrated Circuits. McGraw-Hill, 1989.
Small Computer Theory and Applications. Mc-Graw-Hill, 1988.
