I have previously only used interdental type brushes, but this tool gives you a head start on de-scaling, that can then be maintained with brushes and a occasional use of the tool ,followed with a good brushing with an electric toothbrush, and you feel like you have just come from your Dentist hygienist.
It also useful at removing stubborn food from between teeth when all else fails.
Coupled with regular visits to your dentist this has to be a great addition to keeping the plaque at bay, but take cars when using, as this is the real thing and can damage the gums if not used as instructed on the pack. recommended. Mirror is also good quality. [[ASIN:B000KVLKXU .

Great price, nifty tool with handy mirror to use in between trips to the hygienist - very effective and gets the job done - sharp though, so concentrate when using so you don't damage your teeth or gums.

this does exactly what it is meant to do. takes a bit of getting used to, so that you don't poke your gums ie the end of the scaler is turned sideways to the base of the tooth and then pulled upwards, but instructions on packet are clear. just need to make sure it is sterilised between uses - sterdaent is ideal.

Great but use with care
Good product worked well and did the job. I do think that you need to use it carefully as it may be possible to damage your teeth particularly between teeth.
