For a DVD made by supposed friend and cohort of Dennis Wilson, this is an extremely cheap, shoddily put together package. There is no DW music anywhere, no footage (apart from 2-3 minutes at the end when, surprise surprise a Billy Hinsche song is being played)! There is a total of about 5 photos which we get to see about 3 times each. The whole DVD is basically made up mostly of cheap camcorder standard interviews. The interviewer, I presume it is Hinsche himself, occasionally pops up with some totally pointless questions. A lot of the interviews are conducted in venues where there is some horrendous background noise. There are some decent interviewee's, such as Jardine and Johnstone (and Love for about 2 seconds) plus a smattering of Wilson family members (no Brian notably, which you thought there might have been considering Hinsche is afamily 'friend').
There are some decent stories told on this DVD, and so far it's the only vaguely inciteful slice of DW you can get on DVD so if your a fan it maybe worth one watch, whilst hopefully waiting for a better documentary to hit the streets following the successful re-release of Pacific Ocean Blue. The big let down that gives this product such a bad review is the lack of any music, any decent footage and just the overall amatuer feel of the whole thing. If Billy Hinsche was a real friend, he would have kept this for himself to watch at home, instead of trying to make a cheap buck off the Wilson name. Why else would he have timed the release of this to coincide with POB? Cynical? Perhaps.
