5.0 out of 5 stars No cure for cancer 3 May 2014

Just as good as I remembered!!! Although a lot of it still seems ripped off from Bill Hicks ( who is my all time favourite stand up! ) this is done in a different style!! More in your face angry whereas Hicks is more considered and makes you question life!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Beyond derivitive 6 April 2007
By fabel
If you have heard or seen any of Hicks' shows, watching this will be painful. Large parts of the show are simply stolen from Hicks. Its far more than just having a similar style, many of the jokes are taken almost word for word. When an interviewer once asked Hicks why he stopped smoking, his reply was 'to see if Denis Leary would too'. Kind of says it all really.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing!!! 20 Feb 2003
I first saw this on TV in a swelteringly hot motel room while i was working in the states over last Summer, and it was amazing, me and my friend were laughing till we were physically crying! And were suposed to be big strong guys, this show was amazing. So when i found it available in the UK i had to have it, not only for the nostalgia value; what you have here is an absoloute genius;
He's incredibly funny, spot on with his interpretation of American society and absoloutly crazy. It all makes for good viewing, sure it could easily offend, but if you are willing to have a laugh at yourself and society in general then you'll find this incredibly amazing.
(If you want an idea of his humour, think South Park style satire)

5.0 out of 5 stars Warning do not compare with Bill Hicks 22 Nov 2005
I saw this show many moons ago and was a little bit upset that one reviewer was maligning him, hes not Bill Hicks, never was never wanted to be and thats okay with me. Yes I agree their styles are similiar but leary`s loathing and contempt for modern day America and society is turbo charged compared to Bills.
Bill is more reflective Denis is just straight out pissed off. Example "why should I care about the planet it was broke when I had it".
Just bask in his glory, dont analyse. Its pointless and a waste of energy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful. Pure comedy, pure feeling. 1 Aug 2000

Format:VHS Tape
This guy is truly amazing. He wrote this material while his wife was having a premature baby, and his mother was dying from terminal cancer (Note title...). From all the tragedy in his life, he brings forth the most entertaining stand-up i have seen in a long time. You can watch it over and over. Buy it and enjoy...

5.0 out of 5 stars Funniest concert film ever made 26 Feb 2002
By A Customer
When my sister and I first saw this on TV not too long ago I don't remember ever laughing so much. Sure, his humour is crude and offensive and Leary is basically a jerk, but it is still side splittingly hilarious. Over the course of his one man show Leary manages to insult everyone but you'll laugh despite yourself.
He rants and raves about everything that annoys him (and thats quite a bit) and is undoubtedly the most pissed off comedian on the planet.
The manic energy that he puts into the show makes you actually fear for his life as you believe that any minute the vien in his head will pop.
Althyough the comedy subsides for a bit midway through with a very emotional story about his enfant sons brush with death, he's back in form in no time, laughing it off with his usual bad taste humour.
I highly recommend this to anyone who likes their jokes horrofic and their laughs frequent. Excellent.
