Book Description

The Girl Talk presenters are out of work and out for revenge on the man who publicly humiliated them and destroyed their careers. So when James Almond, the ruthless controller of Channel 6, is murdered, suspicion falls on all five women. Was it icy Julia Hill, recovering from the car crash that almost killed her and blaming James for her crippling injuries? Naughty diva Lesley Gold, who is famed for holding a grudge? Sweet Karen King, who has finally learned to stand up for herself? Ambitious Cheryl, or weak Faye?

As the girls battle to get back on television, sort out their tangled love lives and avoid arrest, the body count starts to rise. Who is the killer, and will they be able to stop her - or him - in time? Full of glamour, scandal and intrigue, Denial is a funny and fabulous read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant ! 3 Feb. 2011
Format:Paperback
I couldn't wait to start this book after reading Coleen's first book Envy.
It certainly didn't disappoint! I read this book in 2 days, I couldn't put it down.
If you like a good chick lit then this is a must. A complete bitch fest with plenty of glamour & a bit of whodunnit thrown in.
The perfect book for a bit of me time

5.0 out of 5 stars I won't deny it - it's great! 24 Feb. 2011
By Chloe S "Chick Lit Chloe" TOP 1000 REVIEWER
Format:Paperback
Denial is the follow up to Coleen Nolan's fabulous debut novel Envy, which both Leah and I loved last year. I was surprised to be honest that she chose to bring back the characters, as often a sequel can disappoint if it isn't done properly but I am really pleased to say that bringing back the Girl Talk characters was absolutely the right move by Nolan, and made for a great reading experience! You can read this as a stand alone novel if you want to, as things are explained well enough for you to get the gist of Envy`s storyline but it of course works better if you have read the previous novel.

The book begins with what is happening to the ladies after the scandalous ending of the last book, and everything certainly isn't rosy for them after their careers at Girl Talk have ended. Each of them has their own grudge to bear, be it against one of their former colleagues or their former boss James, but they have no idea how to go about getting revenge for it. They all want a career back again, especially Julia and Lesley but know they probably won't be able to work as a team again, especially if James get back at the helm of the television channel once more. It's an exciting ride to see just what 5 women scorned are going to do next, and it certainly is a fantastic ride!

There are some really shocking events within this book, 1 of which was an absolute shock and I could not believe what I was reading! Nolan has really chosen to shock her readers with the turns she takes this book on, and breaks away from the mould of usual chick-lit with the direction this goes in.

5.0 out of 5 stars even better than the first one 4 Feb. 2011
Format:Paperback
Loved the first book so was looking forward to this, I was not disapointed and I read it in a couple of days because I couldnt wait to find out who the murderer was! I know people will knock Coleen because she's not seen as a serious auther type but they shouldnt write her off without reading one of her novels. Ok its not highbrow but thats not what I want for a bit - i want entertainment and Denial certainly does that, I heard that Dallas is coming back on tv and that shows that the sort of books Coleen does, glitzy, bitchy and fun is timed right for people who just want to enjoy the story and have a bit of escapism! TRY IT!!
