Book Description

Jan 2002 Demontech (Book 1)
The diabolic armies appear invincible–
but they haven’t met the Marines.

The Dark Prince’s power to summon demons has made his forces second to none, and ensured his place as one of the invasion’s leaders. Not content to merely seize his father’s throne, the renegade royal dreams of world conquest–and with his army and his black arts, there is little to stop him.

So unexpected, so well planned is the invasion of the free port New Bally that out of hundreds in the city, only two escape capture. Haft and Spinner will need all their courage and cunning to retrieve their weapons from their enemy-held ship, cross the open meadows surrounding the city walls, and escape into the forest beyond–where they hope to regroup and drive back the invaders. Luckily, Haft and Spinner are no ordinary men. They are Marines . . .

I'm a real gourmand when it comes to science fiction but in this rare case I struggled to get to page 82, where I quit.

There is nothing wrong with the story but the writing is dispirited and the characters might as well be robots.
Not recommended if you have a read a military SF book before.

As Demons and the Jockapul try to take over the land with the Dark Prince only two people can stop them Haft and Spinner the Frangerian Marines. This book is action packed with fighting and fantasy makes you want to read page after page it is so good i am going to buy the rest. Filled with many other characters who the marines make on their path back to Frangeria such as alyline the golden girl and xeodon the Zobran magician, many deaths and fights to the death. A book for all you fantasy action lovers get it while it is out. While they make it Past Skragland, Zobra and hopefully get a boat to Frangeria stopping the hoards of the jockapul.
