Im from the uk and imported this game from the us having heard alot about it online.Having played it now for allmost a week non stop i can safely say its not only best game for your ps3 its one of the best games ever made here are my reasons why... first of all the gameplay is fantastic its simple yet has lots of depth to it the way u approach each demon has to be thought out because as u might of heard its one of the hardest games outthere so with good equipment and the right strategy u will overcome these tough beasts which makes it the most challenging and rewarding games you will ever play...second the gameworld itself which is huge and looks really good ive allready clocked up 76 hours of gameplay and im nowhere near completing it so u get way more than your moneys worth...third the sound is beleive me when i say top notch mostely due to there being no music when your in the demons world which makes the atmosphere creepy and dark the sound effects are spot on to every clang and thrust of your weapons sounds perfect...forth thing to mention are the demons themselves and what make the game so speacial theres so many diffrent types of demons i havent the room to write about i will say though each one looks amazing in design and everyone a diffrent strategy to kill and to top it off at the end of each stage u are presented with a huge demon boss and i mean god of war type huge and boy are they hard to kill but when u do finally slay these giant beasts u feel such a sence of accomplishment which is very rare in games today...fith thing theres no point because i could go on and on about this game i mean theres still alot i havent even done yet there is allso online mode which makes it a whole other game which i will let u discover on your own this game is not for kids its a thinking mans game and one off the best u will ever play as long as your prepared to die alot before relising it .

So, where do I start with this game?

Well I can only comment on the version I bought which was in English but the Chinese Version.

Let me start with this, it's brutal!! the first level is awesomely difficult, the first time I played it took me 4 hours to complete! even one hit has the potential to kill you if you don't have your shield up. I sense a lot of people would give up on this game after a couple of hours, but! once you pass the first level you get an idea that its going to be big and once you discover the ability to level and upgrade you will most likely be hooked

The Good!

First off it's not a traditional RPG in that characters don't have class specific skills, they start off with a different spread of stats. I'll give an example, a barbarian starts with strength of 15 and a mage with strength of 8. However, its possible for barbarians to learn magic and for mages to use their strength. For newbies, the mage has armor and weapons more suited to distance fighting and the barbarian for close quarters combat.

character generation is quite good, you can choose either gender and make a wide array of variations to their facial features and you can have up to four characters saved at any one time.

The graphics are superb, i haven't seen any blockiness or glitching on it yet I bought mine before xmas from China :o) there are a few loading screens for each level which take up to about 20 seconds but once in the level its free flowing without any loading which is awesome when you are running around.

This was the reason I bought my PS3 - Originally played this on import and was amazed at how the game isn't dumbed down to appeal to the mass market. A rpg that works and you notice the change in your characters ability (unlike many other rpg's you hardly notice improvements). Strategy is needed for attacking and defense, making this game so much more compelling to play. There's hardly any fmv (very few) - yet this feels more involving then many useless over-the-top waste of fmv in other rpg/adventure games. Though this game is now almost 2yrs old this still has groundbreaking original online elements useful for both single and multi players: using online messaging to help or trick players, seeing ghosts of present players in real-time, invading other players games, joining in groups if stuck - surly this has the most original use of online and will be copied by others. A game with great atmosphere and adventure that never become repetitive by repeating same textures or environment (Oblivion, Fallout 3). The strategy for defense/attack will need to change as you progress further in the game; giving the game new depth and skills to learn the deeper you go...Demon's Souls is dam hard, but fair, as you have to be cautious and think (this is no hack-and slash GoW) to progress (some may find this a bit slow to do - but it's well worth the effort). A game that does not lead you by the hand ,but, this can lead to many secrets and items/weapons ...Personally this is one of the best games i've played and hoping to see more games like this, and less over hyped-budgeted games like Modern Warfare, Final Fantasy etc...Demon's Souls is a true cult classic - the perfect dungeon crawler.
