Luke Rutherford (Christian Cooke) is leading the normal, somewhat boring life of any London teenager, when an incredible revelation about his ancestry rocks his world. His late father's best friend, Rupert Galvin (Philip Glenister, LIFE ON MARS), travels all the way from America to reveal to the oblivious teenager that he is the last descendant of Abraham Van Helsing, the famous vampire-werewolf-and anything-in-between slayer. Rupert offers to train Luke for his new duty, and demonstrates a certain expertise in getting rid of evil creatures... being an accomplished demon-hunter himself. Another fundamental aid to the youngsters supernatural new mission comes from none other than Mina Harker (Zoe Tapper, SURVIVORS), a good-hearted, blind, piano virtuoso vampire, once romantically linked to Dracula. To complete this unusual squad comes Ruby, Lukes clever and enamoured best friend. Will Luke be up to the demanding role of Worlds new defender against evil?

Well I liked it!!!,
This review is from: Demons - Season 1 [DVD] [2009] (DVD)
I may be one of the few but I really liked this series and was sorry they didnt make any more. I love Philip Glenister in it and practically everything else I have seen him do. I admit the accent was a bit weak in parts but have you ever heard an American trying to do a British Accent!!!
I would like to have got to know the characters a bit more as the series does leave you wanting on that score. If you like pure fantasy you will enjoy it.

It's really not that bad... Philip Glenister's accent is a BIT rubbish... but what does that matter??? And the whole story is a BIT cheesy but it's entertainment and I like it!!! It DEFINITELY deserves 4 (or more) stars!!!

A Demon of a Series.,

Having seen a couple of the episodes on television and found them entertaining, I decided to take a gamble & buy the entire first series. Suffice to say I wasn't dissapointed.
With great acting from Mackenzie Crook(the office/pirates of the caribbean) Richard Wilson(victor meldrew) & Phillip Glenister(life on mars) in particular, combined with great special effects believable story lines & good old fashioned nail-biting tension,it's suitable for most ages, (though a little dark & scary at times) Demons is brilliant to watch and really enjoyable.
