This is better, based ten years later things have certainly got more iteresting, and more dangerous for all involved. if you are thinking of reading this after reading the first, but have doubts as i did, then go ahead. story starts to come alive in this,thankfully!

In his second book of the seer king trilogy Chris Bunch carries on ten years later from where the seer king left off. Tenedos sends Damastes first to Kallio where Damastes disobeys the emperor and falls out of favour. Until he sent to Maiser supposedly on a mission of peace until Tenedos starts a war with Damastes still in Maiser where he is arrested. As for how he gets out and fails to stop the war I wont ruin it by telling you so just read the book.

The first book in this series was an interesting fantasy riff of the retreat of Elphinstone's army from Afghanistan; not super but fairly entertaining light reading. Read more

obvious plot lines, no excitment at all, characters you care nothing about, and embarasingly poor sex scenes. If I could have given it a half I would have done

If you enjoyed the Seer King this is a must!
Damastes continues his service of the Seer Tenedos. A fast moving action story with dramatic amounts of might and magic, the stor deals with Damastes' betrayal by his friend.
