Democrips and Rebloodlicans uncovers the truth about how corporations have bought the American electoral and legislative process through the power of lobbyists, campaign contributions and political action committees. Covering historical details such as the development of the two-party system and the advent of third-party candidates throughout US history, Democrips and Rebloodlicans exposes how the two-major parties, acting like a gang-land cabal, have allowed corporations, businesses and politically-motivated wealthy individuals to manipulate elections, bribe elected officials and, in short, silence the average American voter. Exposing the ineptitude of both parties at insuring the integrity and vitality of American democracy, Jesse Ventura advocates the replacement of the two-party system for a no party system based on the ideals of our Founding Fathers.

Thank goodness, then, for the blast of fresh air that is Jesse 'the Body' Ventura. . . . When it comes to the battle between liberal sanctimony and conservative obstinance known as the culture wars, he appeals to both sides. . . . The college crowd likes him because he calls out corporate greed and isn't afraid to connect the dots between rich donors and the legislative process. (He was also once a visiting fellow at Harvard, thereby making him, by his own account, a Harvard professor.) The 'real folks' like him because he never finished college himself, thereby proving that hard work (like professional wrestling) can take you further than a fancy degree. --Los Angeles Times
Book Description
Learn why the two-party system is corrupt and read Jesse Ventura's proposal for a no party system.
Describing Jesse Ventura as a political maverick would be like describing Usain Bolt as - "a good athlete". The former governor of Minnesota always speaks his mind and has very little time for political shenanigans of any stripe or leaning. Whilst running for governor in Minnesota he took several novel approaches to campaigning. One was courting voters through -the then embryonic - internet: another was telling voters THE TRUTH! If he didn't know something about the political system he was about to enter, he would simply admit it and say he was willing to learn. Most, if not all politicians finding themselves in said situation would either badly bluff their way through the question or avoid it altogether! Remember Sarah Palin yammering on about "yer department of law"? I think she meant the justice department - maybe.
In his book DEMOCRIPS AND REBLOODLICANS this is what you'll get: straight shootin' and no B.S! Governor Ventura backs up with hard facts everything he has to say about the creeping gangrene of corruption that has all but destroyed true democracy in America.
The facts are: The two major and ruling political parties are no more than gangs fighting over and sometimes agreeing to carve up and share between themselves, their turf - the U.S.A! The president and the office of president are now the willing puppets of the so-called federal reserve, Wall Street and multi-national companies. The already dubious practice of lobbying has now degenerated into outright bribery. Arms manufacturers are the driving force behind America's willingness to go to war at the drop of a W.M.D. Major banks and savings and loans do whatever the hell they want because they know the government will always bail them out.... A tiny handful of not more than four hundred individuals control ninety percent of the U.S. economy and annually avoid paying taxes that surpass the yearly G.D.P. of the entire nation - and a whole heap more!
This is a truly shocking book that every American, no matter what their political hue - should read. Non-Americans and Ameriphiles (like me) may also want to get themselves a copy. America and consequently the world, is in big trouble and our only hope may be a future President Jesse Ventura. If you love America, you must read this book!Read more ›
Unfortunate title - nearly put me off buying it. This is a thoughtful book on the dangers of the two party electoral system in the USA (and any other country). He likens the two major parties to street gangs. In the presidential election, the majority of voters are disenfranchised as only votes in the swing states actually count. Ventura highlights the difficulties facing independents in being elected and how, once in congress/senate, they are sidelined by the power of corporate lobbying. He would like to see an end to the political parties and the electoral college system. I am not doing justice to the book and I urge you to read it for yourself.
