This product is superb. If you live in the country or generally have a poor broadband connection buy this now!! I live in rural Norfolk. I have suffered with fixed wire adsl broadband for years, maximum speed 1/2 meg. With the WiBE i now have over 3 meg broadband. It has completely changed the way we can use the internet at home; streaming movies, e mailing large files, stutter free Spotify etc. Everything broadband should be but wasn't till this arrived. It requires a mobile internet sim card (£15.99 per month for 15gb- the free 3g dongle that came with the sim card would not even pick up 3g at my house) Place the WiBE on your window sill, Pop in the sim, plug the WiBE in, connect wirelessly and let it do its stuff. Within 5 minutes I was online. The WiBE uses 3g technology so needs no phone line so is actually cheaper. I have dispensed with my old phone line rental and am saving money and getting better performance. Why this thing is not in every mobile phone shop amazes me.

It is indeed rare nowadays to find a product that fulfils its claims so easily. Having struggled with slow broadband connections over landline for many years in rural England and now France, I had almost given up hope after trying various alternatives to no avail. Our landline broadband with Orange France (advertised at 20MB download speed, incidentally) achieves no more than 0.5MB with an upload speed not worth mentioning. I stumbled across the Deltenna WiBe and contacted the manufacturer by email to ensure it would work in France. Straight away I received an answer - again unusual these days - to confirm it would so long as the 3G signal could be found, albeit weakly. The WiBe arrived and after a little bit of experimentation to find the best spot to boost what is indeed a very weak 3G signal here, we are now relishing in download speeds of around 3MB and upload speeds around 1MB. The WiBe is unbelievably good at solving the problem of poor rural broadband speeds and is very easy to set up. My only problem now is that VOIP calls using SKYPE won't work....but that is more to do with the vagaries of Orange France than the WiBe. If you are reading this because you too are searching for a solution to poor broadband, and you can get at least some sort of signal on 3G on your mobile phone where you are, then this is quite clearly the answer.

I have had my WiBE now for 2 or 3 months.

It is amazing, I am on the road a lot and in all but the remotest areas it picks up a strong 3G signal.

It was not difficult to set up, and works with the sim card from my vodafone monthly contract dongle, though I also have an O2 and 3 sim just incase.

As many hotels offer wifi that is either only available in public areas, or does not work at all, the WiBE is a lifesaver.

I have a 3 pin power inverter for my car, so I can also use it on the road.

If you are worried about the investment, it does not work everywhere, it has to be able to find a 3G signal, and there are places where it does not work.

However I get fast solid connections where my USB dongle shows no service and where I am not able to make phone calls.

So, I would recommend giving it a go.

The WiBE is simply amazing. We rented a small office and were charged £40 a month for a broadband connection with less than 1.5 meg bandwidth (thanks Regus!). Read more
