All other books go into a huge amount of unwanted detail that only serves to over complicate the learning process for beginners. By all means buy a larger book, but read this one first so the basic ideas and the outline of the language are present.
Using examples, short paragraphs, reader tasks and easy language, without the distractions of poor humour characterising the Dummies series, you get a foundation enabling the language to be conquered and a reference that is so good I'll be taking it to university with me.
Buy this book and get the right start in Delphi programming.

4.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Starter Book 15 Jan 2000
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
Delphi made Simple is a brilliant book to get you started. It is very simple and takes you through the aspects of Delphi slowly. It doesn't go very far though, but enough to get you started, Overall A good book.

This book is fine for the ABSOLUTE beginner, but after the first 100 pages the examples become so bad that they are virtually unworkable without a lot of Delphi knowledge. If you don't know how to place controls it is probably worth it, otherwise find something else.
