If you want to read the poetry of William Wordsworth on your Kindle and want to find out more about him, then this is the edition to get. All his poetry is here including, for the serious student, his revisions of his poems as new editions were published. So, for example, there is the complete text of both the 1850 published edition of his great autobiographical poem the Prelude, but also his original 1805 text of the poem which he tinkered with and revised right up to his death. His prose works are here too, including his account of the Lake District where he lived most of his life and where he walked countless miles over the fells and tracks of the region. A special delight is the inclusion of his sister Dorothy's Grasmere Journal, a diary which she kept during the most richly productive years of Wordsworth's poetic life. Here you can read not just about the daily details of their lives at Dove Cottage, their walks in the district and the visits of people like the poet Coleridge, but you can also find Dorothy's accounts of events that led to some of William's greatest poems. For example there is the meeting with the leech gatherer that became his poem Resolution and Independence, or the walk along the banks of Ullswater that gave rise to the poem 'I wandered lonely as a cloud.' Illustrations of the poet and of the people and places associated with him add a fine finishing touch to this superb compilation. Outstanding value.

I was taught Wordsworth at school many years ago and can still recite his poetry without reading it. Often visit Dove Cottage when up in the Lake district.
