3.0 out of 5 stars OLD TRANSLATIONS OF PUSHKIN 16 Sept. 2013

A reasonable edition, with enough editorial apparatus to make it clear what you are reading (original publication dates, etc) - so reasonable value for a very cheap e-book edition. But beware - these are nineteenth translations, and the language is quite antiquated, which may not be to everyone's taste.

3.0 out of 5 stars Recommended with strong reservations 15 Sept. 2013

This confirmed what I have heard before about Pushkin: although he is the poet who had the strongest influence on Russian culture , he is not accessible to English readers because of the poor quality of the translations of his work. So reading him in English is almost painful because we vaguely detect his genius, but only through the thick veil of lousy translations. I think it is comparable to reading a lousy Chinese translation of Shakespeare.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great edition of Puskin 18 Aug. 2014

Great edition of Puskin. I am only a Russian language learner, so you must take my recommendation with a grain of salt.
