Product Description

Product Description

The guide to what's new in Delphi 2010, from the best-selling author of the Mastering Delphi series and the Delphi 2007 and 2009 Handbooks. The book covers all the new features of Delphi 2010 for Win32, from Extended RTTI to new IDE features, from Windows 7 support to the improved DataSnap architecture. This is a brand new book, there is no overlapping material with the Delphi 2007 Handbook and Delphi 2009 Handbook (which you can consider buying along with this book in printed or electronic format). The Delphi 2010 Handbook is expected to have about 300 pages covering exclusively new Delphi 2010 features. There is no introduction material or anything like that. The book is for developers who use Delphi 2010.

Marco has spoken at dozens of Borland/CodeGear conferences in the US and Europe, and has offered consulting and training on Delphi throughout the world.

Well, If you have a nobel prize in Delphi then i would suppose that this book will do you some good. It appears to assume that you know it all already and is really a brief release note on the new version. Looks like a hacked together collection of release notes and certainly ain't no work of literature. Give that man a biscuit for publishing something at least. XE2 had more problems than it was worth in the end, the response from embarcadero was "oh dear" and nothing else. Just goes to show "once they have your money....."

Marco Cantu is highly regarded within the Delphi community. His grasp of both the Delphi language, as well as the RAD Studio IDE (in which Delphi resides) is immaculate, as this book clearly illustrates.

Whether you're entirely new to Delphi, or (like me) a life-long Delphi developer... you will benefit from Marco's comprehensive Handbook.

It's worth mentioning that this book is still entirely relevant even for Delphi XE users, as virtually all of the content remains the same between versions, with XE focusing more on new additions. Indeed, complement Delphi 2010 Handbook with Marco's upcoming XE supplemental eBook, and you have THE definitive guide to Delphi 2010, AND XE.

Not as good as Marco's other books 10 Nov 2010
By Lyle Mariam - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I was a little disappointed in this book. I have most of the author's other books on Delphi and didn't think this book was up to the author's usual style. Not much content and seems thinner than 318 pages.
Execellent Resource for Delphi 2010 users 7 July 2010
By Fynnol Gray - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
The new book by Marco Cantu is geared towards the existing users of the Delphi language, in particular Delphi 2010. The book is very good resource with the examples (available on the author's website).
I think it is a great helper to every user of Delphi 2010.
