Product Description

Product Description

The De'Longhi PremiumFRY Coolzone F24402CZ is a fantastic fryer. With a food capacity of 0.8 kg, it's big enough to help feed the family, or an easy way to create perfect results for a dinner party.

A variety of neat features help to make the Coolzone F24402CZ one of the most convenient and easy to use fryers available.  The "Cool Zone" under the basket prevents fallen food particles from burning ensuring that the oil stays fresher and cleaner for longer.  The stainless steel removeable bowl is easy to clean and dishwasher friendly, as are the basket and lid, whilst an adjustable thermostat with an indicator light lets you know exactly when you're ready to go. The fryer's basket can be fastened into a higher position, making food drainage simple and easy. Convenient front and rear sunken handles make moving the fryer possible and as these and the upper handles on the bowl are made of cool-touch plastic, you'll never have the nasty surprise of a hot handle. There is a permanent metallic filter in the lid which reduces vapour and the large viewing window allows you to check the cooking process.  The F24402CZ will shut-off automatically if the heating element is not present or if it begins to overheat, so any potential accidents are no longer a worry. Perhaps one of the best features of De'Longhi's fryer is that it can be completely taken to pieces, ensuring total cleaning is a simple procedure.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does the job well 28 Aug 2011
By Peter J Godliman VINE VOICE
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I have denied myself the luxury of a deep fat fryer for years but I really liked the look and sound of this product. It doesn't disappoint - frying is efficient after a fairly rapid heating time. But the best thing about this Delonghi product is that it is easy to clean after use. The different parts disassemble easily and clean well with soapy water. I also like the permanent filter which cuts out a lot of the frying odours, and the viewing window, which enables keeping an eye on progress. Although this product is not cheap I feel it represents reasonably good value for money.

5.0 out of 5 stars perfectly fried chicken and chips... 24 Aug 2011
By Ibraar 'Le Saracen' TOP 500 REVIEWER
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This fryer is absolutely fantastic, a revelation compared to the creaking ageing cylindrical fryer I had before.
Firstly, upon opening it one is immediately impressed by the size and look of it - stainless steel, almost industrial yet stylish in looks, oblong shaped - with an oblong shaped basket with handle. It looks very much like the type of fryer you get in kebab shops.

It looks superb and is well built, so just by picking it up I know it's quality and will last a long time!
It is quite bulky, and takes up more real estate than rounder cylindrical fryers.
So if you're like me and leave the oil in there for weeks on end, you'll need some worktop space to keep it.
Saying that, as mentioned, it's easy to clean so for smaller worktops or limited space - no problem.
Thermostat is located at the top rear with thermostat lights on the sort of control panel.
It has a heat resistant handle to open the tray and carry handles too. it is very VERY sturdy and well built, I cannot emphasise that enough as other fryers tend to be more gimmicky yet feeble.

Setting up is easy enough, its easy to assemble, and set up. It comes apart well and I presume to make it easy to clean, the basket, lid and bowl are removable and easily dealt with.

It has a thermostat (controllable with a black knob at the rear top of the fryer.

Frying is basically a simple thing, and so far have fried chips and breaded drumsticks and the results are what counts, and the results are FANTASTIC! No problems whatsoever!
It has 2 Litre capacity, so you can 'deep' fry as much as is possible in the home to give you crisp well cooked chicken and chips.

5.0 out of 5 stars DP Lewis 11 Jan 2013

This deep fat fryer is well engineered and is of excellent build quality. It heats up very quickly considering it has 2kW heating element and makes excellent chips. The basket is deeper than its rivals inside dimensions being 185mm L, 130mm W, 85mm D, and adequately makes enough chips for two. If you intend frying long fish fillets then is bigger brother would be a better option. It has a 0.8kg capacity and requires 2 litres of oil, considering that its rivals have a 1kg capacity and require 3 litres of oil, then this is better value. The handle folds forward , which rests in the oil, but if you compress the legs inwards, the handle can easily be removed from the basket.

On the whole I am very happy with my purchase

5.0 out of 5 stars All pro, no cons. 25 Aug 2011
    By A. Miles VINE VOICE
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
My main criterion for any kitchen gadget is that it takes less time to clean afterwards than the time saved using it, a seemingly obvious quality that nevertheless seems to escape many equipment manufacturers. I think nearly everyone's got the 'gadget graveyard' in their house filled with juicers and sandwich makers that were simply more effort to clean than they were worth.

This is what's always put me off buying a deep fat fryer, that and the memory of the grease-encrusted, smelly horror in the corner of the family kitchen (The deep fat fryer, not me Mum),however, I'm now at that time of life when age and recurrent drunkenness are making a chip-pan based tragedy a near certainty, so..

I do favour DeLonghi products, liking their retro/industrial styling and the 'professional' feel they have when your using them, and this fryer is no exception. Ideal for a modernist kitchen like mine.

In use, it heats up quickly and makes a perfect chip, though I haven't used it for other stuff yet.

Best of all it does exactly what it says on the tin, all of the bits that need cleaning after use come off easily and can be washed in the sink, and the body of the fryer wipes clean good as new.

So, no complaints whatsoever here. Exactly what it advertises itself to be.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic service and fryer 27 Dec 2011
    By Oldends

Delivered within 48 hours of ordering, even with free super-saver delivery and just before Christmas, this fryer is excellent. Makes perfect chips using the 'cook twice' method, ie 8 mins at 130, drain, then 4 or 5 at 190. And it ain't half quick, much more so than heating up the oven and cooking frozen oven chips. And they taste better, too.

5.0 out of 5 stars It stands out in a crowd. 7 Oct 2011
By P. V. Davis VINE VOICE
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
On arrival, it looks very big but when unpacked and put together it turns into a compact beautifully machined unit in which its five pieces fit together like a glove.
Its a pretty smart looking item in the kitchen and begs admiration.

Plug it in and get cooking. First thing you notice is the remarkable lack of odour and the pleasant overall ambience in usage, thanks to it's very effective permanent filter. Temperature control is a doddle but i'd disregard the times in it's cooking booklet and refer to it as a guide only. The double skin outer box ensures it's always cool to the touch.

When cooled; take it apart; empty out the oil; place that part of the unit and basket in warm soapy water; wipe rest of unit with a damp cloth; wash and dry oil container and put it all together again - all that effortlessly in about five minutes.

Is it's price tag worthwhile when others are cheaper and do a similar job? Well, would you prefer a mini or a rolls?

Yep. Class always stands out, irrespective of where it happens to be and this is it.
