The Bean-to-cup Journey

The function of a bean-to-cup machine is just as the name suggests: literally delivering coffee straight from freshly ground beans into your cup. Magnifica with Autocappucino system does this in seconds, and yet the coffee is as good and as fresh as any you’ll buy in a coffee bar. After pressing one button to select ‘espresso’, the bean-to-cup journey starts at the integral coffee bean grinder. The machine has an adjustable, professional conical burr grinder in one of the top compartments to expertly grind the beans to your desired coarseness.

The ground coffee is then packed tightly and the internal brewing unit pushes hot water through the coffee at professional 15 bar pressure. The espresso is then delivered straight into your cup, the whole process taking just a matter of seconds. The hallmark of a perfect espresso is recognised by the ‘crema’: a creamy layer that sits on top of the espresso to seal in the temperature and flavour .The thicker the crema, the better the espresso and the quality of the machine that produced it.

If you have run out of coffee beans or prefer to use ground coffee instead the Magnifica has you covered. Using the control panel, just change the settings and put ground coffee in the ground coffee compartment, it’s so convenient and easy to use!

Cappuccino, Latte Macchiato and Caffelatte

Fabulously frothy

Next, press either the cappuccino, latte macchiato, or caffelatte button on the control panel and select the relevant froth density on the top of the carafe. The cold milk is drawn up into the carafe lid via a thick straw, and at the same time hot steam is pumped through the lid from a dedicated boiler inside the machine. The hot frothy milk is then immediately dispensed into your cup via a stainless steel tube, and a freshly made espresso is delivered into the cup immediately after to combine and make the perfect cup. Due to the twin boiler system, there is no waiting for the machine to heat up or cool down to make the milk froth and then the espresso--each function has a dedicated boiler for instant and delicious results.

The milk carafe can also be easily cleaned. Simply press the ‘clean’ button located next to the carafe handle and hot steam is pushed through the lid and stainless steel tube to flush out any milk residue and sterilise it. The carafe can then be detached from the Magnifica with Autocappuccino system and stored in the fridge with any remaining milk inside until you need to use it again.

A real advantage to the carafe system is that the milk always remains cold--essential to proper milk froth -- and milk never enters inside the main body of the machine, unlike other competitor models, which will warm the milk and make it difficult to clean.
