I was unsure if spending over £400 on a monitor was a good idea but I am very pleased that I did.
It is great for general work but shines for photography work. I use a Mac and Aperture and the colour reproduction is spot on, having such a large working area is also really useful when working with multiple images.
Connectivity is second to none, with VGA, DVI, DisplayPort and HDMI I can connect everything I need to this monitor 5 Stars!

Many people browsing this page will be aware of some of the quality control issues surrounding the various revisions of this monitor. Thankfully Amazon are now shipping the A01 revision, which corrects some of the dithering issues present when using the Adobe RGB colour setting on the A00 version.

I had been researching monitors suitable for photography for quite a while. After weighing up the "value for money" angle, I decided on this monitor. WOW! it's excellent, very sharp and adds a new dimension to my photography. However, Dell say that it factory calibrated and needs minimal adjustment from the user; not true in my case.
The first thing I noticed was that it was very blue so I immediately calibrated it with Colormunki, then the monitor was just awesome. The prime colours pop of the screen and look almost 3 dimensional. The sharpness/detail is very impressive.
Very good build quality, sits on a great stand with very easy hight, tilt and rotation adjustment.
If you edit images in Photoshop, I really recommend this monitor, especially if you calibrate it yourself.

Good, but could have been better
The screen is excellent and the connectivity is best in class. Why only 4 stars, well the casing is poor, the grey band that surrounds the screen is warped in a number of areas. Read more
