5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent BI Book 5 Feb 2010
Format:Paperback
I don't often review books but this book is by far the best business intelligence resource that I have purchased so far. It covers the full cycle of a BI project from design to delivery, I found it relatively easy to understand (The topic itself has its own challenges!) and the examples are useful, I did find one or two typo errors relating to the examples but I still managed to get them to work.

There is a good chapter on "Change Data Capture" which is not often covered in other BI offerings.

I would recommend this book to others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple, Straight forward and intelligible 17 July 2010

Format:Paperback
A simple, straightforward and intelligible book on business intelligence (I just love the books which are not verbose and free of unwanted complexity). Highly recommended to everyone who understands the very basic of database development and SQL server....

4.0 out of 5 stars Excel bit missing 7 Oct 2010
Format:Paperback
Like the style and information. Although pivot tables were included the data mining and Analyse tools in Excel 2007 were missing. Assuming Excel is to be used as the main technical business user interface to SSAS then I felt this should have been covered.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great step-by-step business intelligence resource 13 July 2009
Format:Paperback
If you already know the theory behind business intelligence but you lack the practice, this book is for you. You will need just this book and a box with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Enterprise edition to create your BI application. What I like the most about this book is the step-by-step approach. Each part of the Business Intelligence Studio is covered in detail, so you get familiar with the GUI and you won't get lost in the instructions, as each step is illustrated with a screenshot. Although I've read only first 200 pages yet, I'm already satisfied with my purchase.
