Gives you a overall view of what SQL Server BI can do for you pretty fast. The lessons are clear and comprehensive and of good quality.

A simple, straightforward and intelligible book on business intelligence (I just love the books which are not verbose and free of unwanted complexity). Highly recommended to everyone who understands the very basic of database development and SQL server....

I don't often review books but this book is by far the best business intelligence resource that I have purchased so far. It covers the full cycle of a BI project from design to delivery, I found it relatively easy to understand (The topic itself has its own challenges!) and the examples are useful, I did find one or two typo errors relating to the examples but I still managed to get them to work.
There is a good chapter on "Change Data Capture" which is not often covered in other BI offerings.
I would recommend this book to others.

Excel bit missing
Like the style and information. Although pivot tables were included the data mining and Analyse tools in Excel 2007 were missing. Read more

Delivering Business Intelligence with Microsoft SQL Server 2008
I've bought other titles in this series and this is another fine adition to the library. I find that these books very useful for ongoing reference, and would highly recommend it.
