I bought this after hearing Bubba Sparxxx being played in a bar. I got several of his albums, but most of the stuff I really like is on this album.

The first half of this album is outstanding, but nothing on it is poor. The fusion of rap and a bit of hillbilly shouldn't work, but really does. Bubba Sparxxx includes samples and melodies which make the tracks more than just a voice and beats, but a fully fledged aural experience. His voice is deeper and smoother than most of his Northern contemporaries, which gives the tracks a certain momentum which some other rappers lack.

If you listen to the sample of the title track "Deliverance" or "Jimmy Mathias" you are going to enjoy this album - and please do listen to them: it's worth the risk!

'The Dark Days, Bright Nights' album was one of my favourite hip-hop albums of recent years, featuring some of Timmy's best beats...
So obviously Bubba had an uphill struggle and made it! Deliverance is very, very good. It shows lyrical maturity and continous progression. The album is just as good as the debut, but a TOTALLY different style.
Bubba Sparxxx is the best thing to come out of the Dirty South since Outkast, and this album just strengthens that point.
Buy it, listen to it, love it!
