It makes a refreshing change to see a recipe book that specialises in lunch time dishes. Everyone seems to concentrate on recipes for main meals these days!

This book is, of course, part of an excellent series of vegetarian recipe books that covers every eventuality and meal, so it was no surprise to discover that Shelly has excelled again. Included are 12 recipes that are suitable for brown bag use and 8 recipes that are under 300 calories, ideal for those undergoing a weight loss program.

You don't need to be a vegetarian to enjoy these dishes! They would grace anyone's lunch table.

Hi, I must admit that i am no vegetarian, but when i read here about her reasoning on eating 4 out of your 5-6 a day in a meal in this recipes, i thought, why not, sounds like a good idea right? And the cover was teasing me quite a bit, so i went ahead and got my 1st veg recipes book here.

Not disappointed at all, and will get some more from this author. I specifically liked that all her recipes are "hand picked" and it shows. Also that on every page - there is Preparation time in min, cooking time in min and total time for each, so u know exactly what you are getting yourself into and how long it is all going to take.

Then right under it on every recipe are all ingredients are listed - so you know if you have to go shopping or go and check what you have in a fridge or cupboards before committing to it or when picking recipes.

Then on a next page - there are: Instructions, Tips and Nutritional Fact - which i found all very useful, so its not just what to cook and how with what you will need, but so much more on all 23 recipes, plus pics at the end of each, so you know how it should look like in the end - and that helps too.

My favourite is N# 8, since i love grilled tomatoes, and now i have another way of doing it with mayo. Great job and thank you, Shelley, will be keeping tabs on all your cooking books from now on.

I found many great recipes and they were of great point value for my Weight Watchers Diet. My husband loves Italian cooking and now I can share the great Pasta with Homemade Tomato Sauce with him and still stay within my point allotment, Yeah. I would recommend this cookbook highly to anyone.

This is a great cookbook for anyone who wants to try something healthy for lunch, and you don't have to be a vegetarian. I'm not vegetarian, but I like to provide healthy options for my family. My picks are the spinach and feta pita and the grilled tomato sandwich, which should be called the "ultimate grilled tomato sandwich" I think! The black bean burgers are going to be on the dinner menu this week too. All recipes are easy to follow and quick to prepare, which is perfect for lunch, whether you are entertaining friends, or sending a packed lunch off with a family member. Definitely recommend this one.

I think this book of recipes would appeal to anyone whether they are a vegetarian or not. Vegetarian pizza, Quick Brownbag Burritos, Guacamole Tacos, Black Bean and Corn Quesadillas and the Vegetarian Reuben Sandwich are the ones that I plan to try. I also like that there's a section in the book with 12 recommended brown bag lunches you can take to work with you. I'm not a vegetarian but am always looking for ways to eat in a more healthy way. This book has a lot of recipes that look really good.
