Rather disappointing. Only half the ballet in real terms. I am disappointed not to be seeing Elmhurst's performance this February at the Birmingham Royal Ballet as I am sure they will do much better!

I have not seen Coppelia before so I rented a few copies and this one arrived first.

I don't know a great deal about ballet, so I couldn't say whether this was technically good or not, but I really enjoyed the performance. The dancing was lively and fresh, and the characters had a youthful reality about them.

The scenery was bright and cheerful and the photography was well balanced allowing the overall dances to be viewed but at the same time allowing the characters to stand out.

The ballet itself was a little short, just over an hour, and I suspect that some of the more technical pieces had been left out.

However, overall, very enjoyable to a ballet newcomer.
