Really, it makes more sense than 95% of what's on the SciFi channel--anyone check out Sharknado?--and a lot more sense than the recent Matt Damon thing. It's got a reasonably literate screenplay, good production values, and a well-worn, admittedly, premise that's handled pretty well. So what if it's all stock characters? Not great, certainly, but entertaining and occassionally clever. I was just going to give it three stars, but I feel as if I need to bring the average up a bit. I like it enough to buy it, which I rarely do. The last movie I bought was Liberal Arts. That probably tells you whether you'll agree or not.

The Internet is out to destroy humankind. According to the cover blurb, that's its only purpose. Never mind that the dialogue makes clear that it isn't, it only wants to protect itself.
The funniest part is when the young geeky programming genius says in astonishment: "I am used to thinking linearly. But here, every part of the program is connected to another part!".
No, really? The parts aren't all disconnected from each other? They are connected to one another? Well, stone the crows! The cheek of it! Whatever next??!!
Every cliche of such films is here, from eye candy in the form of the attractive female member of the rogue ex-FBI team that is striving to save the human race in the face of officialdom's obstruction, showing just enough torso to appeal to demographic #3 in the marketing people's list but not too much to be considered a serious cerebral player; to the irate general (black, of course) who doesn't understand the first thing about the real threat of AI systems and demands martial law.
One star for the minimal amount of hilarity to be wrung from such lame material.

I have to say that I really do like this mini-series. I at first thought it was a disaster movie but it is more sci-fi than disaster, and in my opinion a very good one. The picture and sound quality is very good. This movie put me in mind of the 1970 movie Colossus the Forbin Project that also deals with an out of control A.I. The stories are similar but by no means the same. The 70s movie was good but in my humble opinion Delete is better.

A very good story and really makes you think about what if computors really could get that smart. The world as we know it would be in trouble.

"You and I travel to the beat of a different drum" Writer: Michael Nesmith 2 Dec. 2013

An interesting more where up-to-date version of the evil mega electronic entity threatening the world. Can a team of outsiders out whit the monolith government and the entity to save mankind or should they just give up now.

This happened a few times before as in "Colossus: The Forbin Project (1970)" and we know who won that one.

And it looks like the entity has this thing about for a young male programmer - ether loves him or kills him. Shades of "Demon Seed (1977)."

Remember this is a series so do not be surprised if they throw in the kitchen sink. Still all in all it is fun.

Being a person who watches this type of movie for more than entertainment...if you watch closely you will see things within this movie that are happening today.
Like "Eagle Eye" turned into a mini-series!! 14 April 2015

Delete is like the movie entitled Eagle Eye. Serious things are happening here that are relevant to understanding the tensions about initernational IT security and how it influences policy. It is actually very fast paced and action packed and I am so pleased that they made the episodes so long because is helps you be immersed in the story more. It is also similar to Depp`s movie "Transcendence". This could also be a prequel for the "Terminator" scenario. Fun and educational!

This movie is about artificial intelligence running out of control. Whoever wrote this story knew about the internet and how interwoven it has become in our daily lives [ALL OVER THE WORLD]. In my opinion it is one of the best films of 2014. I highly suggest that readers of this review [WHO ARE COMPUTER LITERATE] consider adding this title to their library. IT'S A KEEPER! ! ! ! !
