5.0 out of 5 stars Another Sarah Morgan great read 2 Oct 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Sarah Morgan at her best - the language is excellent - sorry I hate a plod and this is vibrant, pacy and steamy in one book.

The plot gets reviewed by others so only need to add:- Yes,Izzy is young (she calls Matteo out on his stuffy engagement party for her sister with hilarious results), has had a few knockdowns from family and bad press but still stands up for herself!
I like a strong heroine who is great at the comeback and gets in some excellent witty last words too! Its steamy too with one scene where the leads almost lose control whilst trying to avoid a roving spotlight...

You know the book is going to have a happy ending but an emotional one? Try it, Sarah Morgan gets 5 stars for a reason.

Can't understand how one reviewer only gave this one star! Please have you read some of the other bland and poorly written romance stuff out there that gets 4 & 5 star reviews? Eek.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Really Good Read 12 Nov 2012
By Jen
Format:Kindle Edition
As always with Sarah Morgan's stories, I feel uplifted and happy after reading one. This was no exception.
The story moves well and is easy to read. I had to learn to love Izzy, the heroine, as I found her annoying to begin with. Little did I know that was what everyone else was doing and all she wanted was to be seen for who she really is. Izzy is also the only one who can bring down the defences of the prince.
Sarah Morgan reeled me in once more. Both hero and heroine were great ! A really feel-good read!

Defying the Prince (Harlequin Presents)

DEFYING THE PRINCE by author Sarah Morgan is a September 2012 release for Harlequin Presents. It is book 5 from `The Santina Crown' miniseries.

The Royal Saga continues.....

Pop Princess Izzy Jackson's scandalous behavior at the engagement of her step sister and the Crown Prince brings her to the eye of Prince Matteo. After which he whisks her away in his limo to his palazzo. Would he understand this misunderstood pop diva?

Then they start working on a charity concert. After the success of the concert, will they continue to work together?

DEFYING THE PRINCE is a romance packed with humor, steamy sensuality and heart-tugging pathos. It is a sparkling tale of unexpected attraction, chance encounters and red-hot passion. Author Sarah Morgan has fulfilled the promise of a yummy hero in Matteo and a witty heroine in Izzy and rolled them in a story that is filled with emotion and sizzle.

Prince Matteo keeps women at a distance because of a mishap in his youth. However, it doesn't hurt to keep his reputation in tact in order to benefit other interests as well. Matteo, seeking to allay some of the scene that Isabelle "Izzy" Jackson is making at her sister's engagement party, escorts the wannabe pop princess from the stage and to private quarters. He has no idea that he has just invited a lot of trouble into his life, and he can't seem to look past the veneer until he stumbles upon the unbelievable. Izzy makes Goals for the Day in order to see her dream realized. Her goal this time around is to get Matteo's attention in order to make her dreams come true. Izzy is going to need that thick skin that she developed over time to get past this Prince's high walls. Will she be able to manage that, or will she cut her losses and chalk it up to another learning experience?

Defying the Prince was a refreshing blend of light hearted fun, romance, and perseverance with a dash of reality tossed in for good measure! Defying the Prince had some truly laugh out loud moments as Izzy seemed to test Matteo repeatedly with her antics and outspokenness. I truly believed that Izzy was a flamboyant character who would NOT be kept down no matter the obstacle. If only more people endeavored to continue like Izzy in Defying the Prince.....or for that matter if there were more Matteo's out there. Alas there are not, but Defying the Prince is a great escape that will have you rooting for the HEA between these two characters. Although Matteo and Izzy are so far apart, they manage to make it look as though they are two halves of a whole. Matteo and Izzy seemed to complement one another when they finally, truly looked at the other and saw the real person inside. I think they are the perfect balance of a great relationship and I so enjoyed my time reading about their story. Frankly, I couldn't wait to see how Izzy would push Matteo and his staid life further as he really needed more of her brand of life!

I Joyfully Recommend Defying the Prince because Matteo and Izzy were a barrel of fun to be around for a bit, and I truly enjoyed Matteo's speech in the closing of Defying the Prince.

Format:Mass Market Paperback
A disgraced pop princess finds herself falling in love with a brooding prince in Sarah Morgan's contribution to The Santina Crown continuity: Defying the Prince.

When wild child Izzy Jackson had taken part in a TV talent show, she thought that her future as a singing sensation was assured. After years of dreaming of becoming a chart-topping pop star, Izzy's dream finally looked like it was within reach; but unfortunately her record flopped and her fledgling career was over before it even started. However, Izzy refused to give up on her dreams. She was determined to prove to her detractors - and to her family who had never believed in her - that she had what it takes to make it as a singer. All she needed was a chance to show the world how talented she really is, but who is going to take a chance on a wannabe singer whose failure had been so public? When Izzy's sister Allegra announces that she's marrying into the royal Santina family, the aspiring singer hatches a plan that will enable her to prove her mettle in front of the world's press and Prince Matteo, her sister's soon to be brother in law who knows all the top people in the music industry. Prince Matteo could be the one to make all of Izzy's dreams of superstardom a reality. But there's a catch: Prince Matteo thinks that Izzy is a vacuous airhead who doesn't have a single talented bone in her entire body!

Matteo cannot fathom what possessed his brother to marry into the notorious Jackson family. With their penchant for drinking and rabble-rousing, the members of the Jackson clan have become firm favourites with the paparazzi and their exploits are regularly splashed all over the tabloids. Despite all this, Matteo still hopes that his brother's engagement party to Allegra Jackson will be a dignified affair. However, all his hopes are dashed when tipsy starlet Izzy gets up on stage and begins to belt out a raucous tune in the middle of proceedings! Determined to ensure that his brother's reception does not degenerate into a farce, Matteo finds himself with no other option but to smuggle Izzy out of the party, into his limo and straight to his secluded luxury palazzo!

Izzy is absolutely furious with Matteo! She cannot believe that the arrogant prince had the gall to interrupt her performance and make a complete fool out of her! Izzy is determined to show Matteo that she deserves to be taken seriously as an artist, but what the spirited singer hadn't counted on was making sweet music with the gorgeous prince!

Is Matteo ready to overcome his bias against Izzy? Or will prejudice lose him the only woman he can ever love?

Romance superstar Sarah Morgan has outdone herself once again with Defying the Prince! Sexy, sassy, witty and feel-good, Defying the Prince is an emotional, enjoyable and wholly engrossing contemporary romance about first impressions, triumphing against adversity and falling in love with a fantastic heroine you'll adore and a sexy Alpha hero you will love!

Fun, warm-hearted and absolutely impossible to put down, Sarah Morgan's Defying the Prince is not to be missed!
