Product Description

Dana fled her pack and their laws to live on her terms, but the price of defiance was her happiness.

Pack law states Lycan females must be shared by two or more males, but young and in love, Dana flees rather than be forced into a ménage. Her life on the run, constantly on guard, has no room for happiness. When her past catches up and brings her back to the home she fled, she finds herself reevaluating her beliefs. To her surprise, she discovers her body and inner wolf want to claim three males.

Could it be that now older and wiser, she can accept the Lycan polyamorous way of life? Or will jealousy and fear send her running again?

Warning: Reading this book may find you panting for three werewolves of your own. Please talk to your doctor before attempting the foursome scene portrayed in this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellant 18 Feb 2012

Defying Pack was excellent way to start reading a book by an author, i had not read any of her work before. As it showed the Lycan world wonderfully and how the polygamous relationships in the mating packs work. Definite Must Read.

3.0 out of 5 stars A hot werewolf story... 11 Feb 2013
By Kashya
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I enjoyed this book. Dana has been on her own for quite some time, as she didnt want to be forced into an open relationship within her pack. However out of spite, when her childhood sweetheart comes to her rescue and decides to claim her as his and only his, she decides she wants to have 2 other suitors too.

This book is well written and is exactly what is says on the tin. A werewolf love square. Dana finds herself attracted to all 3 of the werewolves she has chosen to bind herslef too as they all offer her different things.

There is suspense, betrayal and a whole lot of lovin in this book, including a rather steamy foursome...

5.0 out of 5 stars When all you ever wanted was 1 wolf to love just you, despite Pack Law 26 July 2011
By cathyr - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Plot:
When Dana was told she'd have to submit to Pack Law and accept multiple partners (whether she wanted to or not), she did the only thing she could; she ran. Twelve years later and her running finally comes to an end. Can Nathan, with the help of Pack mates and friends John and Kody, convince Dana to mate with them, and maybe even find a HEA? Or will Pack Law, history and Rogue Wolves work against them all?

Comments:
- 4140 kindle locations, 51,156 words
- m/f, m/f/m, m/f/m/m - explicit, generous. No m/m. Not overly frequent, although discussed an awful lot. Because of Dana's history, the men are forced to take it slow and seduce her in to their beds, or at least as slow as blue balls and mating lust will let them. No bdsm, handcuffs, spanking... All generous but also somewhat "aggressive", as in "faster! harder! more!" rather than hours of gentle foreplay with dripping chocolate sauce and champagne. Dana is always an active and willing participant.
- Dana was physically abused by her father, abused and threatened with force as an adult. Her parents' marriage included (what amounts to) sexual abuse. She has spent the last 12 years running, being hunted, scared of having to return to her Pack but fighting every step of the way. All these things colour who she is and how she reacts to the men in her life.
- According to her blog, Langlais is working on a sequel to "Defying Pack Law", "with a new heroine and a set of wolves that will make you drool". The World Langlais has begun to develop is exciting and full of many possibilities. But I wouldn't expect to see Book 2 for at least a few months. *sad face*

Opinion:
This is a violent, aggressive paranormal romance (but in the nicest possible way). There's nothing gentle about it. "Defying Pack Law" is one of those Shifter books that says "they are animals, outside the Normal World, and when push comes to shove they let out their baser instincts". Don't expect the hearts and flowers of His Teddy Bear or the humour of Delicate Freakn' Flower; Langlais takes the Shifter mating thing into a whole other realm. And boy does she do it well!
What we have is:
1 hurting woman, forced down a path that has left her alone and lonely, confronted with everything she left behind,
A seriously Alpha alpha, taught from birth to take what he wants, changed and hardened in 12 years, still yearning for the joys of youth, and
2 almost-Alphas, who don't have all that baggage, trying to balance the stresses of the other two, and really just wanting to love her.
"Defying Pack Law" takes you on a ride, from the heart-pounding beginning to the joy filled finale. It's a relationship they have to work for, forgiveness that has to be earnt, Bad Guys that need destroying and so full of learnt caring, love and respect that you so very much want it all to work out.

5.0 out of 5 stars so good 18 Jun 2011
By Jennifer Brown - Published on Amazon.com

this book was one of those random buys because I was in the mood for a good steamy read. Now most of the time you get a kinda short, some what okay book, however this book surprised me big time. It was really good. It was well written pulling you into the story from the first pages. The characters are well developed and thought out. It ended up being a really good read. If you enjoy feisty, strong females and caring alpha males this book is for you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really Good Shifter Romance/Action Story 31 Oct 2011
By Rare Reviewer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I have enjoyed Langlais short stories with her unique slant on shifter stories. This short novel is another hit for me.

Pros:
- Great world building, I had no problem imaging the environment where the actions take place.
- Good flow of actions without any "HUH" moments
- Alphas that are strong but caring
- Great story line that pulled me in so much that I did not want to stop reading
- Outstanding characterization, I became invested in what happened to them - wanted them to get their HEA
- "HOT" love scenes
- Strong female character

Cons:
- Did slow down in some parts but not enough to really ruin the story for me
- This is about a menage so if that makes you uncomfortable - then no you won't like the novel. I happened to like that part.

In fact, I really enjoyed this story so well that it has interested me in buying the next in this series.
