This is essentially an excellent encyclopaedia of His Dark Materials. I have found myself referring to it regularly as I read the trilogy of novels. I was interested in a companion to the trilogy to help with the grand allusions in the novels. There are helpful sections regarding the allusions in this Guide - but it covers material much wider than this.

5.0 out of 5 stars brilliant 20 Jan 2013
Format:Paperback
Bought this fir some background reading for the first in the series 'Northern Lights'. Very informative. However its a good idea to have read the whole trilogy as theyare not seperated and can give you spoilers.

But a brilliant buy overall and a keeper for the bookshelf
