5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent value, great music!, 6 April 2007
This review is from: The Definitive Collection (Audio CD)
I bought this album after seeing Bobby perform recently in concert. I have been a fan of his for a while and have been looking for some of his earlier recordings from the 70's (a lot of this material has been out of print for years!)

This has now been made possible with the release of this splendid new compilation, which is the perfect companion to his "Best of Bobby Crush" album. Only two tracks are repeated ("Borsalino" and "The Sting") but I guess that's to be expected if you're releasing an album with the word "definitive" in its title (they're Bobby's two most well-known songs)

I can heartily recommend this CD and hope it triggers off some more re-releases from Bobby. I understand that there is a certain amount of material in the "Universal" archives that has never been released. We "die-hard" fans would love to see that happen!

5.0 out of 5 stars Nostalgic Piano Playing Still lives On !!, 2 July 2010
By
Bobby Crush, a talented super star pianist, of the 70s' era, regularly played on TV. The music and speed at which Bobby Crush could play, always had me glued to watching him. Good old favourites and lively music played by Bobby Crush earned him a reputation as being the best pianist in his class, in my book. Whilst compiling music lists for my ipod, I remembered my old favourites and looked up Bobby Crush. Lo and behold, there he is on CD and MP3. I could not believe it and subsequently downloaded the MP3. The music is superb, lively, swingy and very entertaining. The Definitive Collection has the best of Bobby Crush's repertoire. Any body that likes lively piano music and Bobby Crush, I thoroughly recommend this album.

Bobby Crush the definative collection is very good, Trudi takes me back to when I was 3 years old and it was played on the radio gramme my mum bought, on the bbc light programme.Obviously played then by Joe henderson or Russ Conway may be. with addition of drums and a couple of other instruments it makes easy listening.
