Interesting 1 Feb 2005

Quite an interesting book but a lot of what is said is found in most similar books. It would probabaly be a good book for a starter or intermediate but beyond that it doesn't really tell you anything new.

There are 39 chapters in this book - each chapter a seperate article - and most feel like they've been previously published in a newspaper or magazine and compiled together here. The tone varies a bit - but it blends together OK.

There are 13 chapters on general betting methods and styles, 8 on football, a few misc chapters and the last 15 chapters take a brief look at all the other popular sports.

This book has got plenty of good advice - aimed at different levels - and I learnt some new information from it. articularly useful was Chapter 15 - Kevin Pullein's Football Masterclass with a series of tables for comparing opponents based on league standings and then how to compare across several betting styles looking for best profits. I suspect this chapter was specifically written for this book as it's 20+ pages long.

It's an interesting idea - and one that I've already put to good use in the last fortnight - to find better value at my online bookmakers.

Overall - this book was a good read - and the short chapters are useful to re-read and go over if you've got a spare 10-15 minutes.

I think that this book will make you a better punter. Buy yourself this book for Xmas holiday reading.
