Had a big problem with cats in the garden as every house in the street seems to collect them and have at least two. The types of people who live round here evidently aren't gardeners either! After moaning to neighbours on more than one occasion about the mess being left in our garden on a nightly basis, decided to invest in an ultra-sonic cat scarer which worked fine. But the problem was that the two 9-volt batteries each unit requires only lasted for a month or so and it was getting very expensive to keep replacing them. So I decided to get this mains adapter / extension lead instead. So this means that the repeller can be left running 24/7 and there are no longer any batteries to replace.

The PIR on the STV610 is very sensitive (which is good) but things like nearby plants moving in the wind will also activate it, so you might want to take that into account if you're planning on using batteries. However it makes much more sense than batteries if you have a high traffic area to cover, & being able to buy BOTH the STV610 & the mains adaptor- for less than some places are selling JUST the STV610, is a real bonus. There is also a 5mtr cable supplied with the adaptor which is handy but it does run out rather quickly. 10mtrs would have been even better, but for the money its a fair deal.

It's great to have the peace of mind of knowing those moggies aren't running riot because the batteries have run out! My only quibble is that the lead is too short; I've had to put the cat scarer about 3m outside the front door because it says the adaptor plug can't be used externally under any circumstances, so I still need to have a battery-operated repeller for the far end of the garden. At least it saves one set of batteries....

seems to work!
Had this product for three weeks now and no cat mess hurra so it seems to work for me, although range might be problem so a couple would be needed for a large garden

Cats away
If you hate the mess cats leave in your garden, get one. But get the mains adapter too or it will cost you a lot of money in batteries.
