Fun:
This game is excellent. The graphics are truely next gen, the game itself is massive, its not just a mundane fighting game that suits button bashers - skill is needed, its customisable so your character, his look, haircut, clothes, song etc are all down to you. You start off like in the old def jam fight for NY as a no one - you need to build up your reputation (by knocking ppl out!!!! great role model hey!!)and as such unlock more goodies - chains, watches, rings etc!! As you go through fighting its not just one on ones but tag team and royal rumble style too!! Your moves are also upgradeable and if you played the old ones you will love choosing your move when your in control that inflicts pain on your rival. In addition you can punch/kick/throw to the beat (can change the music to your preference via iPod or laptop) of the music to give extra control and trigger more damage to your opponent. This is a great game that on HDTV and Surround Sound looks and sounds gorgeous. if you like Fight Night just buy this - you wont be disappointed and you dont need to even like Rap as you can change your character and music to your own taste!!!

Decent Game 5 Jan 2012
Fun:
Its a good game. But expected more considering its in the same line of game as Def Jam Fight for New York. I would recommend this for people who have a slight intrest in fighting/music games.

Fun:
Three words pretty much summed up my first experience with this - OH, MY and GOD. I had extremely high hopes for this game after the brilliant Fight For New York game on the last-gen consoles. FFNY had everything, nice soundtrack which you hadn't heard everywhere in the mainstream, the threads, the jewellery, the core fighting mechanics.

So I borrowed DJ: Icon (thank God) and after spending a little time with it I was extremely disappointed. Don't get me wrong, this game has good ideas but this game is sunk by so many more bad points.

The good - Nice graphics, create-a-label looked great, shame I couldn't stand the gameplay long enough. Music was alright. Decent roster of characters from what I saw, nice to see Kano in there (yep I'm from London).

The bad - Horrific fighting, the decks were a good idea but were just too broken and unbalanced. The gritty, nice atmosphere of FFNY is gone with the whole place shaking to music.

In short, buy this at your own risk, I recommend just buying Fight for New York on the Xbox (I have it on PS2) and plonking it in your Xbox 360. Cheaper and more fun.
