Book Description

1 Aug 1999 A Book of the Keltiad
On a planet far-flung from Earth, the true descendants of the Celts have built a new civilization. Driven from their home by the relentless persecution of priests during the Dark Ages, the Celts fled in great starships to make a home on the green and beautiful world they call Keltia. Now, for the first time, Patricia Kennealy-Morrison tells the tale of that exodus to the stars, a tale of unmatched courage and breathtaking romance. From the smoke and fire of conquest, a Celtic leader rises: Brendan, whose cunning and bravery will become legend to the Celts, even as they span the stars!

Beautifully laid out and charming. The author makes her religious opinions clear, in a manner which adds dimension (and tension) to the plot. As a long time devotee of Keltia, I enjoyed seeing the distant past referred to in the trilogies so well described and detailed. I would have liked to see more description and detail on Nia and the Daanans; as well as more time spent on what happened when they reached Keltia. Hopefully the next installation will delve into these areas. My favorite is still "The Throne of Scone", however, this is a wonderful addition to the Keltia series which I would highly recommend.

Ms. Kennealy-Morrison returns to the first cause of her star-empire of Keltia with this full-speed-ahead tale of the conflict between the old religion and Christianity in ancient Ireland. Her description of the depredations and the manipulations of the old ways of the Gael by the former slave Patraic in order to subvert the loyalties of the Celts makes one wish for the old days, indeed. Characters are rich and powerful, and the pace is near breakneck speed, leaving one wishing for more.
