I found this book really helpful; there is all is necessary to learn about this wonderful dog breed, the deerhound.
Congrats'to the author for this book: very clear and simple to read; The breed is very well explained in all his outstanding traits , with very nice pictures and a large part of the book dedicated to the very important topic concerning raising and training a puppy.
The section about dog parasites is quite scaring!...due to magnified pictures of fleas, mites...but again very informative!
If you need to learn about the breed, this book is the best way to know how.

Deerhounds owe their existence to the English Greyhound?

Julliette Cunliffe knows little about the real history of the Deerhound dog if she believes it owes its existence to the English Greyhound - infact she must know little about the history of the greyhound if she even thinks this is an English dog.
The author needs to seriously revise her approach to dog history.
The Authors Self ingratiating images seem like an attempt to create standing of importance in the world of deerhounds when she can't even picture credit real people of importance such as Anastasia Noble and her Ardkinglas hounds in the book.
One for Julliette Cunliffe and the English Deerhound Fans only I'm affraid.
Better to locate Norah Hartley's Deerhound if you are serious about the breed.
