Product Description

Product Description

Widely and enthusiastically acclaimed, THE DESCENT marked the debut of a powerful imagination and earned Jeff Long comparisons to Stephen King. Now, after three more suspenseful blockbusters, he returns to the captivating creatures he conjured in that first incredible novel, unleashing a story that will hook his fans and never let go. In THE DESCENT, we discovered a world beneath our feet - a tubular nightmare of tunnels and subterranean rivers and seas inhabited by a savage race of hominids. Our search was to locate their leader, the so-called historical Satan. In DEEPER, mankind once again confronts its cruel subterranean relatives, and we must descend even further. Searching for the hadal god, we reach down to our very genesis. With terrorism boiling up from the depths, we find ourselves drawn into a clash of civilizations - one primal, one modern - that forces us to confront our demons all over again.

A Fantastic Comeback 19 Nov 2007
By S. BELL
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
Having read "The Descent" several years ago, I have followed Jeff Long's work since, with greater disappointment each time. However, I was delighted to see a follow-up to "The Descent" and can only say that "Deeper" is even better. A gripping read with fantastic narrative that really fires the imagination. A classic tale of good vs evil with a realistic backdrop of 21st Century realpolitik.

The twist potentially calls for another book in the series, so Mr Long, please get writing!

By Mr. William Oxley TOP 1000 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Hardcover
This book continues to reveal the full extent of what lies beneath our feet, deep beneath our feet. Go Deeper if you are brave enough! Go Deeper if you dare! You may be brave enough to go Deeper, but will you ever return back to see the sunlight?

Deeper is the follow up to The Descent The Descent, an absolute gem of a book that explores what lies in the underground caves and tunnels. In the Descent we find out that, as we have always really known, horned and vicious humanoids lurk in vast caverns beneath our feet.

And now in Deeper the creatures, once thought destroyed for good, have returned to terrorise Americans by kidnapping their children who surely will never return alive. In searching for the children an even greater evil is discovered lurking down deep in the darkness, deep in hell on earth.

A real thriller, an action novel, and a great read. Put down your detective novel and read this now.

And make sure you read it in time to read The Ascent The Ascent: A Thriller coming May 2011.

Great stuff. But... 14 Feb 2010
By Jack
Format:Mass Market Paperback
... If you're looking for closure on all of the questions left unanswered from "The Descent", then you're in for a bit of a shock. Instead of answers, we're left with yet more questions! However, this is still a very entertaining book, which is ubdoubtedly just warming things up for a third installment.
