3.0 out of 5 stars Deep Tissue Massage 12 Jan 2009
By G. Lowe
Format:DVD
Another of Helen's DVD's very informative if you want to have an insight into Deep Tissue Massage and are a qualified therapist certainly not for the beginner. I did find the filming a little frustrating, some of the camera's are static and you cant see what she is demonstrating clearly on occasions. All in all a good DVD which certainly delivers although expensive.

2.0 out of 5 stars Inaccurate and dubious body mechanics 31 Jan 2008
Format:DVD
I'm sorry but there are many mistakes in this title. Palpation of many of the muscles supposedly being worked on is often quite a bit off, even some of the anatomy taught is wrong. The techniques demonstrated are from from being "deep tissue massage" as I understand it (practitioner and teacher of 17 years)- try Art Riggs' far superior titles available in both book and as an exquisitely produced DVD. Lastly, body mechanics as demonstrated are often less than perfect. Once again, British educators are found to be sadly lacking on face of superior US based teachers, it may be cheaper but then there's also a reason for that. Think twice about making second class investments.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good DVD well worth buying!!! 4 Oct 2006
By Lorna
Format:DVD
Having been a practising therapist for over 20 years, I recently bought this title along with 2 other titles from the Helen McGuinness range of DVD's and I would definately say they are the best ones I have come across, they are very clear and well demonstrated. I also found it quite refreshing that the DVD held my attention throughout, as the therapist, whom I presume to be Helen McGuinness, talks you through the techniques as she demonstrates them and keeps your interest throughout. This makes you feel that you are actually being shown something correctly unlike other Videos and DVD's I have bought where you feel you are just watching a film of someone performing a routine with a detached voice over that tends to get very monotonous and boring. A good DVD well worth buying!!!
