Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

The Tunguska Project is designed as a classic Point & Click Adventure with an intuitive interface. It draws its strength from the symbiosis of atmospheric graphics, logical puzzles and a gripping story. In the role of the keen Russian beauty Irina and the somewhat geeky bookworm Max, the player is taken into a world of myths and mystic, but also into real intrigues about money and power.

The kind and quality of the puzzles, of which some are only solvable in cooperation of both characters, are oriented to classics like Day of the tentacle. Atmosphere and story telling can be compared with titles like Broken Sword 1 & 2 and Runaway, whereas under presentation issues parallels are to find in Black Mirror.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very solid traditional-style adventure at a great price, 4 Dec 2006

Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Just finished this game and overall I found it a pretty enjoyable experience. Main plus points are the excellent interface (one day all adventures will have a hotspot finder!) and the impressive graphics. It is also extremely good value for money at £12.99.

Only negatives are that I felt the story became somewhat incoherent towards the end and the omnipresent American voices started to grate after a while, especially when coming out of supposedly Irish and Russian characters! This disappointing voice-acting has been (justifiably) well-documented elsewhere, with the occasional dramatic change in volume within the same sentence being particularly difficult to forgive.

However, on the whole, Secret Files: Tunguska is a very welcome return to traditional 3rd-person point-and-click adventure gaming, which I'm sure will be improved upon when Secret Files 2 appears in 2008...

P.S. I recommend downloading the improved alternate ending which also has a 'Cinema' feature whereby you can view all of the game's cutscenes once again.

5.0 out of 5 stars So much fun for real adventure gamers!!, 7 Dec 2006

Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
I've bought so many crap so called adventure games in the last year that I promised I'm not going to do the same mistake yet again.
However, Tunguska played up to my expectations. Not boring, fabulous graphics, interesting story,no stupid solutions,no endless searching for yet another clue.
Fantastic game.Adventure gamers enjoy!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Tunguska Quite an Event, 7 Oct 2006

Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This game is a true point-and-click adventure. The graphics are good and the technical quality is really outstanding. Puzzles abound and nearly all are inventory based. The game has a help system which shows all interactive hotspots, so you always know if you have picked up everything available. The story is fancyful, but keeps the player interested. The weakspot for me was the American voice dubbing, but there has yet to be a perfect game. There are a minimum of 25 hours of gaming in there. All in all well worth the asking price.
