Product Description

Metro Redux is the ultimate double game collection, including the definitive versions of both Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, each rebuilt in the latest and greatest iteration of the 4A Engine for next-gen consoles and PC. For the first time, console owners can expect smooth 60FPS gameplay and state of the art visuals that were once only available on high-end PC hardware. Newcomers to the series will get the chance to experience two of the finest story-driven shooters of all time in one vast package; an epic adventure combining gripping survival horror, exploration and tactical combat and stealth. Fans of the original games will find the unique world of Metro transformed with incredible new lighting, physics and dynamic weather effects, as well as a host of gameplay improvements and new features. All the enhancements from the acclaimed sequel 'Metro: Last Light' have been transferred to Metro 2033 Redux - superior AI, controls, animation, weapon handling and many more. And both campaigns benefit from all-new melee animations, the ability to check your watch and ammo supplies on the fly, and new full-body player animations. Those who favoured the more survival-horror oriented gameplay of 'Metro 2033' can play both campaigns in the 'Survival' Play-Style, a fraught, slow burn fight for survival. Those who enjoyed the more action-oriented gameplay of 'Metro: Last Light' can try the 'Spartan' Play-Style, providing Artyom with a powerful set of combat skills. With the legendary Ranger Mode included to offer an extra layer of challenge and immersion, and all previous released DLC, Metro Redux offers 50+ hours of AAA FPS gameplay for an incredible price.

Wow, haven't played the original games but knew they destroyed PC's. Running this maxed out on a GTX560ti with Phenom II 965 with AA turned off and getting great frame rates. The story is great, the introduction of either survival or spartan mode with four difficulty levels is great. The graphics are fantastic. it has great shooting and scary elements. The optimization done is incredible and must be 50-100% that of the original, meaning intermediate PC's can play the game almost maxed out.

Amazing
This isn't your typical FPS (e.g call of duty shoot em ups), this has heart; a great story, riveting characters, an overwhelming undercurrent of dark humour, tension and immersion. I loved it, obviously, and I personally believe this is how dark FPS should be, more of a FPS thriller. I really have nothing bad to say about this game; the cut scenes are great, the graphics/gameplay are top notch, the story is fantastic with good length and pacing (many twists and turns). It can be quite a gory and graphic game mind (special mention to the boob physics here...) so its definitely a mature game. I would recommend you play the first in the series (metro 2033 redux) which is also great but its 'last light' that really excels and is a definite step up from its predecessor.

Runs beautifully on my Pc, by far one of the prettiest games this year. I played both originals on the 360 and ps3 and thought I would test out the redux on my computer runs very smoothly, no lag and just really enjoyable. If you are a big metro fan that has played the originals I would still urge you to get this version. Worth every penny!

...... complete and utter total nightmare! ....... No, no, not the game ....... STEAM!! Yet another game where you have to spend hours at 220KB/s downloading what should have been on the disc you've just purchased. 2033 and Last Light in this set, both of which took over 3hrs each to install and it takes only 8hrs or so to play your way through each of them - crazy!
The games themselves though are actually pretty good - just way too short. You are on rails but, as much of the time you're travelling through grim, atmospheric tunnels and shafts, you don't really notice the lack of freedom to roam and explore.
It's a long time since I've played a game so creepy that I was afraid of my own shadow, literally!
At a tenner for the two, definitely worth a go if you like a bit of post mutually assured destruction but if you work on London Underground - you'll never want to go down "there" again!

It's just about playable if you like shooting countless hoards of mutants. For me the game was ruined by numerous bugs, glitches, crashes to desktop, corrupted saved game files, no save option, a few poor checkpoints, steam "already running" play errors and a ridiculous dream-like ending that I couldn't complete as the game kept crashing at the same point even in safe mode. None of my other games have these problems so my conclusion is that it was badly developed by 4A Games and subsequent updates haven't fixed all the defects - at least none of the above.

One of the best games I've played in a long time! Even better was the stunning visuals on offer & a good story line. Only disappointment was it can be extremely linear in some levels but still a worthy title for anyone's collection!

I tried to play this when it first came out, but quickly got frustrated and bored by the dull gameplay mechanics and very dark and dull environments. Then the Redux version came out, so having picked that up for cheap, I decided to give it another chance, and guess what. I got quickly bored of the dark and dull environments, clunky, dull and repetitive gameplay, combined with frustration of always running out of ammo and having to scavenge every nook n cranny to keep supplies up. Overated crap.
