Although a lot of the material on this disc appears on some of the other similar products this one stands out because it only contains interviews with the band members and none with rock journalists. It covers the period from the start of the band until the death of Tommy Bolin. The video quality is not great and the sound is also a bit dodgy with a lot of the interviews not face to face, only poor quality tape recordings, with album covers etc. on screen. The interviews are interspersed with short live music clips but no complete songs. Some of them are good, others, well, I'm not certain why they are included as they don't make Purple sound like one of the greatest live bands ever. Overall the disc gives fascinating insight into the band and is well worth renting but only buy if you are a die hard Purple Fan.
