5.0 out of 5 stars I would reccomend this book to any Business-English teacher, 18 Nov 1999
By A Customer
In my work as a teacher of English as a foreign language in a business enviroment, I found this book to be very helpful. It is not a traditional teaching book. It is fantastic if you want new ideas and role-play activities.

4.0 out of 5 stars Dated - but a valuable and great resource, 5 Aug 2005
By Peter Romain (Colchester, Essex United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
If you are serious about helping non-native business people - you will need this one.
This book is dated and in certain areas you must be careful to point out the changes from 1989 - especially with telephone numbers and postcodes. But it does open up discussion anyway and this is good. I have been using it for several years and would not be without it. If you have a business background it will let you "open up" some units and extend them very well.
I would love to see the authors freshen this publication up. Maybe to include a CD with some extra exercises.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent little book for teachers of Business English, 13 Jul 2003
By H. Shipman - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Brilliant and useful resource which I use all the time.

Chapters include survival English - numbers, alphabet, intros; Hypothesising, taking orders, telephoning, querying information - plus loads more that someone doing business needs to do in English every day.

I particularly love the Business Trip Game where you have to roleplay situations while travelling, and there are 'hazards' for when things go wrong. I also love the section on Ethics which has produced some great discussions.

I'd thoroughly recommend it. Great to dip into and photocopy...
