Every track on this excellent CD deserves a review in its own right - mix them up you have a release that every solid house head should own. Many of the tunes on the album have only been released on white labels and include a nice balance of top-brass producers and lesser-known tracks which work brilliantly together
Split into two cd's, Westcoast and Eastcoast,(if I was forced to choose Eastcoast narrowly scrapes ahead!) Westcoast starts with a trippy Chemical Brothers remix and and goes straight into Finnish genius Jori Hulkonnen and just keeps building and building. Esatcoast kicks off with a remix of Kot's 'Finally' with a lengthy filtered intro which is just fantastic and just keeps going without a lull or a mediocre filler tune in sight.
Yoshieque Two: give it a whirl, you will be more than happy that you did.

I was first introduced to the world of Deep Dish in '95 through the journey that IS "Penetrate Deeper".
As many of the other reviewers have stated, the first "Yoshiesque" experience was simply awesome. I had long awaited the second volume and in doing so was treated to the "Renaissance Ibiza" compilation which in itself can only be described as class.
And so onto Yoshiesque 2...both cd's are very well thought out and the mixing is of the highest quality - as you would expect from DeepDish. As ever they have thrown in a couple of their own bits of work such as the superb Dusted track. But it's little gems like 'Blair Bitch', 'Oil UK' and 'LoudEast' that just make you get up and freaking well dance.
The mixes take you through all kinds of emotions in the way that they have been programmed - just when you are the deepest depths of the "Delarium" track you get kicked in the face with "Morel's" blinding follow up to 'True', 'Funny Car' - what a tune!
The compilation doesn't require a "get used to it" period - Just put it on, stand back and enjoy the ride. It has the lot - great vocal tracks through to bangin tunes.
This CD along with all of my other Deep Dish stuff will always receive maximum respect. I will take it - with the others mentioned above - everywhere.
An absolute must, what are you waiting for?

5.0 out of 5 stars This is as good as House music gets!! 10 July 2001
Format:Audio CD
With so many 'Superstar DJs' out there at the moment, Deep Dish consistently stand out for their innovative and inspiring interpretation of dance music. Yoshiesque Volume I was a masterpiece, the follow up is a work of art! I won't compare the two albums, they are very different but this just shows us you can never anticipate what Deep Dish will offer!
Yoshiesque Two is a beautifully interwoven collection of deep, pounding House, funky soul, beat-heavy techno and moving vocal House - with that special Deep Dish touch! Stand out tracks include Dusted's 'Always Remember to Respect your Mother', Oliver Lieb presents Snakemen 'Afrika' and Morel's 'Funny Car'. But these are merely highpoints in what is, as a whole, another classic.

5.0 out of 5 stars rediscovery 20 May 2008

In a scene dominitated by the pretentiously weird with albums coming out that might sound interesting but in essence are nothing more than ice sold to the eskimos, it's a good time to bring out some of the old gems.

This is one of them. Two discs of absolute blizz! Cd1 to be fairly chilled out with jazzy, breezy and summery vibes layed out over a sexy house groove slowly growing into a progressive frenzy towards the end of the disk.
It is the 2nd disk that truly does it though. It simply one of the best mixes ever. Each track is of divine beauty mixed into a full production of pure listening pleasure. Every bit of music i great. There were it goes deep we go deep with it. There where we hear vocals we smile and wish Tiesto took notice. It's progressive of the highest standard and is in my opinion far superior to disks like Sasha's Global Underground which got all the credit back in those days.

5.0 out of 5 stars uplifting, progressive and bangin' !! 25 Jun 2001

uplifting, progressive and bangin' !
When Yoshiesque 1 came out it rocked and now that Yoshiesque 2 is out, it's growing all over me...if you have listened to Deep Dish mixes before there's always one or two choons that will grab you first off and introduce you to the whole vibe. Here, Soulstice 'Lovely' (Johnny Fiasco's Lovely Vocal Remix), Bernard Leon Howard III feat. 80 'Marscarter (BLH III Original) and Kings Of Tomorrow ft. Julie McKnight 'Finally'(MAW Sting Reprise) do just that.
Not sure the true nature behind the Westcoast and Eastcoast labelling of CD1 and CD2 ..it could be Northcoast, Southcoast or whichever coast your on at 3am ...when this kicks in, it's going off big time !!!

Deep Dish have been doing the deep-house/tech-house/prog-house DJ circuit for years. They're live sets always wow the crowds, their remix's always impress the DJ's - and their compilations have yet to dissapoint me.
Yoshiesque 1 was released in Summer 99 - and the CD still remains a firm favourite in my CD collection. When I learned of the second volume, I was synical at first since I decided that matching the masterpiece which is Volume 1, would be nigh on impossible.
I was wrong. CD1 is fantastically tuneful. The wonderful bass lines keep rolling from your speakers, then the lush pads break through and the vocal drifts over the top - and your not even past the first track. CD2 is more biased towards tech-house and gives this genre a perfect showcasing.
If you have the first volume of Yoshiesque - this is a must. If your unfamiliar with Deep Dish - this is a must. If your expermenting with your musical tastes and you're looking for an outstanding representation of the current deep-house and tech-house scene - this is a must.
I unreservedly give this release from REACT a top 5 stars. Incredible. good job boys.
