Book Description

Professor Tikaya Komitopis knew that bringing Admiral Rias Starcrest home to meet her family wouldn’t be easy, not when he led the fleet that decimated her nation during the war. She isn’t surprised when people believe she’s been brainwashed, that Rias is still loyal to the empire, and that he has nefarious plans for her homeland. She is, however, surprised when Rias’s designs to build a submarine lead them to stumble across an ancient secret shrouded in mystery, time, and lies.

If revealed, this secret could mean devastation for Tikaya’s entire nation. It could also mean choosing between her people... and the man she loves.

Decrypted is the sequel to Encrypted and is loosely tied in with the author's "Emperor's Edge" series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent but not the author's best work 30 Dec. 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Reading Decrypted was a strange experience. Given that, when I first read this, I was waiting, extremely impatiently for the last book in the Emperor's Edge series by the same author, I think my first impressions of this book were not entirely fair. Consequently, I have left this review until several months later.

Decrypted continues the story started in encrypted. The story is still told through the eyes a female language professor who has done the unthinkable: fallen in love with an enemy officer and now wants to bring him home.

Naturally, this is not well received. Between this and the materialisation of another mystery, the story seamlessly runs these, traditionally separate, plot-lines side by side.

I enjoyed reading Decrypted, and from most other authors I would give it five-stars, however, I feel that is not quite a strong and compelling as the authors other works.

This story didn't move as fast for me as most of the previous Buroker books I have read. I was intrigued with whether Rias truly was the hero we hoped, but overall I found the story lacked a certain something the other books have all had.

4.0 out of 5 stars She does it again. 16 May 2013

Well written as always. I especially enjoyed how Rias and Tikaya's relationship was further explored in the backdrop of her native island, full of people who were anti-Rias to say the least. Another enjoyable yarn.

A small review which basically boils down to the fact that it is like the others in the series a fantastic story & well written. I'm impressed that the Author has been able to keep her standard high. Highly recommended.
