An essential and fascinating collection of Rosler's essays, from the beginning of her career to 2001. The essays are mostly outward focussed - Rosler as teacher/ art historian, looking at art and its history in terms of artistic movements, feminism, institutional critique and marxism. But as a whole, this is also a very useful insight into Rosler's own practice, and an enlightening companion to studies of how feminism and political activism interact(ed) with contemporary artistic practice in the late 20th century.
