About the Author
Donna Dewberry has been painting for over 25 years, and developed her 'One-Stroke' technique through self-teaching and experimentation. She teaches her technique to students around the world. She has produced over 10 booklets for Plaid Enterprises and is the author of several books on decorative painting, including Donna Dewberry's Complete Book of One-Stroke Painting and Decorative Murals with Donna Dewberry.

This book is beautiful illustrated. Full of inspiration ideas. You could adapt and alter ideas and design from the to create your own designs. It's so nice to do freehand and all this are inspired by this book. It is so enjoyable just looking at pictures! Lovely book. I just love it.

Donna has surpassed herself in creating this well illustrated book. There are 10 lovely projects to choose from,all patterns are included,as are the lists of materials and paint colours used. The many beautiful step by step photographs show in close detail,work at various stages. Her instructions are comprehensive and are uncluttered by formal terminology. In my opinion this book is more for those that are very familiar with her method of painting,wanting to decorate some substantially larger pieces and to expand their knowledge even further.

Donna Dewberry is an amazing artist who shows you step by step how to create beautiful decorations on furniture in your home. Decorative Furniture was written with the beginner painter in mind. Everything is made simple, and it starts from square one.Decorative Furniture starts out by showing you what materials you will need to complete every project in the book. Amazingly, it isn't a huge list of materials. Donna Dewberry strives for simple, yet extraordinary projects. She also shows you what brushes are needed and how to load them with paint. This book also covers basic one-stroke painting techniques, such as how to make a vine, leaf, or flower. Even if you already know the one-stroke painting techniques, this serves as a very useful reminder of how things should look. My favorite part of this book is how it teaches you how to do special effects such as giving a piece a textured look, such as the project on page 32. I plan to start this one soon! As with all Donna Dewberry's books, don't feel that the projects are only for furniture.
